Can’t think of anything else that would have been a 12”.
’GT’ is such an enjoyable track and I love the middle section which is so weird; Paul brilliantly merging an incredibly catchy song with an kind of experimental middle part.
The 12” is very cool and a good example of the version being unique and not some crappy extended remix fleshed out to last 5 minutes longer. There is also a really cool home demo out there.

I’m guessing the next 12″ would have been Temporary Secretary /Secret Friend – that’s a great single too.

I bought this as a 12″ when it came out too. First solo McCartney record I ever bought. Being a bass player loved the groove. Used it in a few of our songs. Worked well. Thanks Macca.

Von BonteeUnless Paul McCartney knocks on my door I am unlikely to be impressed.

The extended 12″ version was actually the original full version while the 7″ version was an edited down version. I wish there was a CD release of the 12″ track. It would’ve been good on the McCartney II archive with the whole disc of full-length versions. Maybe we will see it on the Back To The Egg Archive.

Wasn’t the 12” available to either download from iTunes at one point or you got it if you bought ‘Back To The Egg ’? I know a few tracks were put up as extras, one was one of the awful ‘No More Lonely Nights’ remixes on ‘GMRTBS’.
Would imagine ‘GT’ in both versions will be on the ‘BTTE’ archive release as it was the single issued before the album came out.

I also bought this single (7″ version) upon release, once the a-side started to slip down the charts and “Daytime Nighttime Suffering” was on the rise. It was nice to get two hit songs for the price of one piece of vinyl.
“Goodnight Tonight” is only an average song but the bass line and overall groove are fab.
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.
