Bassplayers, practice this!
I'm like Necko only I'm a bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin and also everyone. Or is everyone me? Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe. This has been true for 2016 & 2017 but I may have to get more specific in the future.

Listened to this again today. Just for bass players, a few things: I think he’s playing a Fender Precision with roundwound strings on it and you can hear the buzzes, which, accident or not, add a bit of grit into the sound. In the middle bit, you can hear him deliberately use those buzzes as the bass solo then mute under the vocals. After that he really messes with the lines he used earlier in the song, some of which I think were accidental but he just went with it and improvised.
