‘Arrow Through Me’ is the seventh track on Wings’s final album Back To The Egg. See more…
There are some songs that I just hadn’t heard literally since I recorded them. One was called ‘Arrow Through Me’. That is a kind of funky little thing. Interesting harmonies, interesting brass riff. As I say, something I recorded and then not listened to again.

One of the best deep tracks in his entire catalog. My generation has discovered it as I’ve seen it covered on youtube and less hardcore fans of Beatles and their solo careers I knew in college were aware of it, and enjoyed its awesome groove and tune. The descending horn riff is really sweet, funky in its composition just as much as its performance. Lyrics are not his best, but overall its a great song, the best on Back To The Egg for my money.

I wouldn’t go so far as saying it’s his best in his entire catalogue, but I like it. Another great vehicle for Paul’s powerful, creative, and pleasing vocals. An interesting melody w/ chord changes which my intuitive “Musedar” detects is inspired.
And I always appreciate it when artists use actual brass (or woodwinds) instead of synthing them in.
