Surprises? Well, I wasn’t expecting Helter Skelter . And he played 1985 which he said he’s never played in the US before and Ob La Di Ob La Da he plays rarely here. (Or so he says.) I was surprised that they used clips from the game but why not? The intro and the outro are beautiful. It was mostly Beatles songs with a good mix of Wings and later thrown in. There were two, two and a half encores, which I don’t know if it’s standard but it sure got the crowd worked up.
It was awesome.
It sounds awesome. Mummy is TRYING to get tickets for me to go see Paul or Ringo for my birthday. And, boy, am I praying she does!
Thursday night your stockings needed mending.

He kicked off with Venus And Mars / Rock Show then straight into Jet – WOW! Back to the 75-76 opener. The best opening tracks ever on a McCartney concert as far as I’m concerned.
"If we feel our heads starting to swell.....we just look at Ringo!"

A bit blinding to be honest – they flashed the strobe lights with every Jet ! It was great.

I can’t wait… I love 1985! Did he do Let Me Roll It ? (another of my fave Wings songs) And Obladi-Oblada! Yay! I’ve been obsessing on that song lately (been listening to a lot of The White Album ), so I’m so glad he does it in the show. (Too bad George and John are not there to shout “arm!” “leg!” when Paulie sings, “Desmond lets the children lend a hand”)

I’m going to the Miami show this Saturday. Can’t wait! Taking the wife…she can’t wait! Taking the kids…they can’t wait!
I’m thrilled to see that “All My Loving ” is on the setlist. It’s had a special place in my heart since I was a little kid.

Looks like the real rain won’t hit ’til after 11pm… showers before that. Okay, so my hair won’t look all cute, but I’m still going to have a great time singing and dancing!

I am so jealous of every last one of you.
Oh, the woes of being a Canadian with a difficult mother! I’m begging her to try to find tickets anywhere, anywhere she’d be willing to go, and she said she’d think about it. (And all you with mothers know that that’s a bad sign!)
Sounded amazing you lucky ducks!
Glad to hear the show was a great success!
Tongue, lose thy light. Moon, take thy flight… see ya, George!

Kiss of death. Keep needling her. I’m rooting for you!

I’m really jealous of you all. I can’t wait till he comes over here in June. Enjoy the shows, wherever you get to see him!

Yay! I’m so excited for you.
Interesting tidbit I just learned: he was late to our concert because he was playing some $1,000.00 plate charity event before the show. No idea what charity, but something animal and or vegetarian related seems likely, yes?

At the end of this review (http://latimesblogs.latimes.co…..-bowl.html) it says it was a late start because not all the fans could get inside the venue in time.

Well, it was just a bit of gossip from my orthodontist – I can’t find an article on the charity event. I was told that they would let people in at 6:30, we actually went in at 7. It was scheduled for 7:30 but it started at 8:15. It wasn’t a big deal or anything, but since she brought it up it got me wondering what happened. Nice of them to wait for late fans.

Ah sorry, my mistake. The LA Times piece was for the first Hollywood Bowl concert, not the Arizona one.

So it doesn’t actually start at or terribly near to 6:30, then? We (the girls coming with me to the show) thought that sounded quite early, maybe didn’t want to be up past his bedtime, haha. …just kidding. With a setlist that long, and knowing how he isn’t slowing down any, it seems we’ll be rocking out for quite a while. Was it more than two hours, would you say?
One of my best mates is coming from America for this. Wish it were tomorrow, haha.
Do what you want to do, and go where you're going to…
