My guess is they cut out the tracks they didn’t want on an album, then tried to make it hang together as an album. He put out several live albums in the 80s and 90s which chopped and changed the running order, though they were all taken from various sources. I’d imagine they worked on a similar principle with this one – that the album would outlive the TV show, and they needed to come up with the best possible product for listeners.

Makes sense, thanks @Joe, tho it makes you wish they released the full concert and let it stand than cut it up. Nowdays they would probably release the full audio and dvd on some deluxe collectors edition 6 months after the regular album like with ‘Kisses On The Bottom ‘.
Can’t say its the best Paul show however as he is trying way too hard to be relaxed.

@meanmistermustard I’ve not heard it for a while, but I do remember seeing him mess up the intro to We Can Work It Out . That show was also the first time I heard Every Night and I remember thinking it was wonderful.
If they ever get round to including Unplugged in the Archive Collection I’m sure they’ll put out the whole unabridged show on CD and DVD. It’s a no-brainer. Perhaps in 2021 when we’ve all lost interest for the 30th anniversary.

I’ve read reports that the mess up at the beginning of ‘We Can Work It Out ‘ was deliberate. No idea how true that is but i’m sure Paul has done that kind of thing elsewhere (not that i can remember where).

Mixing up verses just seems to be something he does occasionally. I remember one time where he performed “Lady Madonna ” on a show and started with the second verse. Given the more intimate and relaxed and less formal setup of this show, I think he just decided to take the opportunity to call himself on it rather than just carrying on the same as if no mistake was made.

Paul quite brilliantly mixed up the verses of ‘I’m Down‘ back in ’66.
I’ll have to try and remember where i read that ‘WCWIO’ was an intentional pre-planned flubb.

This is such an underrated Paul album. It might be my favorite live album of his. He should put out an album of the full show like he did with the Ameoba Gig.
