I missed the whole thing as my phone’s not compatible with their app, but people on Maccaboard said he only did “New” songs, no Beatles.

On the Time Square Cam site they have an archive section from each time during the day. Select the 1-2 PM one and Paul starts around 1:15 PM.
Edit: You can’t see him or least from what I am viewing right now; however, you can hear him.

^^ Thanks for that, it was nice to hear “Queenie Eye ” live. There are a bunch of fan photos and links to media at the maccaboard.
In other news, I just got an email that Best Buy has shipped my deluxe CD with all the doo-dads, so I should have it soon!

No idea if its been mentioned but Paul’s scheduled to appear on The Graham Norton Show on BBC1 a week Friday (18th October) between 10:35pm and 11:20pm, it will then be available on the iplayer for a limited time.

If anyone sees a track-by-track feature in which McCartney (or someone in his press team) details what each song on New is about, could they please flag it here? I’ve got articles on the songs but I’ll need to bulk them up when more info emerges.

[x-posted at the news thread]
* From the Morning Advertiser: the album will be playing this Sunday in 208 pubs across the UK. I never thought I’d see the words “special collectible Paul McCartney beer mats” strung together, but there you are.
[BTW, if you do get an extra beer mat, I will gladly trade for an LA listening event poster.]
* From The Examiner, news of a radio special and digital billboards campaign:
Clear Channel announced Oct. 11 in a press release it will broadcast an audio special for Paul McCartney ‘s “New” album over its national affiliate radio stations and also launch a digital billboard campaign in 18 countries including the U.S.
“The iHeartRadio Album Release Party with Paul McCartney : A Q&A and Performance” will air at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m PT Oct. 14 across Clear Channel Media and Entertainment Classic Rock, Classic Hits, Oldies and AC stations across the country (check local listings). The program will also air on iHeartRadio.com and will stream on Yahoo! The program, hosted by Jim Kerr of Q104.3, will feature songs from the album and comments about the music. A couple of other things, via the maccaboard’s “New” marketing thread:
* If you buy the album from Streetlight Records, among other retailers, you get a light-up cube. Dangit, now I want one. Edit: The Examiner said the cube was sent to reviewers, and someone videoed it.
* Paul will be on NPR’s World Cafe on the 18th. You can find your local affiliate here.

My station just started picking up the World Cafe. Good show, but I hate their intro music. Sounds like something you hear while visiting the fish tank in an aquarium.

I’m hearing stories “New” has been released here already.
So, I’m sitting here trying to decide whether to rush out and look – even though I have no cash today and the plastic is looking slightly sick – or wait until later in the week when I can afford it. Complicated by the fact that another album I really want was released yesterday.

Here’s another chance via Paul’s twitter to win a pair of tickets to either of the BBC shows. You have to answer a trivia question about the new album, and I guess they’ll do a drawing. They’ll announce the winners tomorrow:
We have 10 pairs of tickets to see Paul perform on @BBC6Music and 10 pairs of tickets to see him play for @BBCRadio2 both on Wednesday…
To win the tickets answer the following question (please keep in mind that you & your friend will have to get to London for the show!)…
Question: Name the four producers who worked on Paul's 'NEW' album. @Paul McCartney with your answers. Winners announced tomorrow #whatsnew
Good luck guys! Hope someone from here wins!

Woo hoo – I now have a shiny new copy of “New” in my hands – cue Charles Dickens story about the overloaded credit card, which is now overdue as I spent the money I was going to use for the monthly bill on the Lewisohn book – at least I have a few weeks to busk or something before “BBC Vol 2” comes out.
Luckily the deluxe edition has the colour cover I like better – though A$5 for a couple more songs and (I think) slightly lengthier booklet is a little much.
I was going to comment on CD packaging but don’t want “kind Mr Nasty sir” hitting me over the head with an off-topic submarine so will create a separate post in a better spot for that
[EDIT] Well, I created the other thread, but will comment here as well since this is “New” related. I’m kind of disappointed that in the ‘deluxe’ set that when you open the folding cover you are greeted with another exact copy of the cover image, why not include the alternate colour version off the ‘standard’ edition? But then I suppose it’s better than the blank white (there’s that colour again) inside the ‘standard’ edition of “Kisses On The Bottom “.
[EDIT 2] I’m a (grey) goose – the two pics on the folding cover are actually very different – just this blind bat took one quick look and, while they have the same design, the ‘neon’ tube colours are, of course, different.
