Just heard Queenie Eye on Breakfast With The Beatles . Love it!! I’m not sure why it’s being compared to Monkberry Moon Delight . Tempo-wise, to me it’s more “Let ‘Em In.” But I think of all the four new songs we’ve officially heard so far, this one’s my favorite.

We just finished the LA listening party and I’m so blown away and excited about this album. More thoughts later when I’m not on my phone. But it’s such a strong album, I’m so happy I went tonight!

So lucky!
I have one question, and I’m sure you can guess it! Am I right to be as excited about Early Days as I am? It won’t disappoint me, will it?
Something that struck me about the verse I found, doesn’t Paul also use “But as for me…” in Here Today ? I still remember how it was before…

I was thinking of you during “Early Days ,” and I was very eager to hear it. No, you won’t be disappointed at all! I didn’t catch that lyric. It was strangely overwhelming being in the car and taking it all in for the first time. I was generally concentrating on the music more than the lyrics. But I loved “Early Days ” as well as the much talked about “Hosanna.”
I just posted a bit more at the maccaboard, I’ll just paste what I said there:
Our experience in LA was very different from the NY one – ours was very California, very casual. Cars, a drive-in, dancing to Paul and The Beatles in the sunset. Red solo cups *ahem*. And we all got to meet Chris Carter from Breakfast with the Beatles, who couldn’t be sweeter. Since fewer people showed up than they’d anticipated, they gave us extra posters. Which is great, because now I have ones to give to friends.
I agree with the other positive reviews. I was blown away! This album is one of Paul’s best. It was a very powerful experience being alone in my car just listening to the album in the dark and letting it sink in during the silences between songs.
We didn’t get to hear the hidden track (at least not in LA). The last one was “Road,” and it’s definitely one of my favorites. To be honest, though, this album is so strong, it’s going to be hard to pick a favorite. That said, “Appreciate” is a VERY strong contender! I can already tell I’ll be playing that one a *lot*.
I can’t wait to have a chance to listen to all the songs all over again with a great pair of headphones and really appreciate them. Chris Carter told me that these listening parties were Paul’s idea, and I’m so grateful he gave us the chance to hear his album in this unique, shared experience.

So touched to hear you sometimes think of me!
So glad you have got to hear the album and that it’s excited you.
You go back a page, you’ll see the lyric I quoted, which I think is the last verse of Early Days . I just thought it interesting how Paul subconsciously quotes one song about John in another about John.
I am so excited about this album.
Hope nobody minds my updating the thread title!
For you, parlance, for all your wonderful contributions and words of wisdom…

Just a reminder that Giles Martin will be at the Regent St. Apple store in London previewing the album at 7:30 tonight. Paul’s FB confirmed the event.

Well, yeah, but there’s a difference between being interested or curious and being really excited about it and talking it up to others.

I know, I was just joking
How would you rank it among all of his albums, or at least the ones he’s released since Flaming Pie (including FP)?

Hmmm… it’s almost hard to say because the style is so different. But better than Memory Almost Full , maybe as good or almost as good as Chaos and Creation. And those are the two I love more than the rest of the post Flowers In The Dirt albums. I have a feeling – just on a personal level – I might end up listening to this one more.

That’s funny – they might have gotten the tailgate line from me.
