^^ Paul’s FB posted the cover. Paul and Thom Yorke would be an interesting combination.
As an aside, how much do I hate that pose he does sometimes…

Is it just me, or does that picture look like he is making a pose to appeal to very young people? OK OK. I’ll get off my soap box.

Hmmm… hadn’t thought of that angle specifically, but it’s the same pose he used for one of those PETA tshirt ads. It’s meant to give him an air of authority, but it makes him look pinched.

Anyone participating in the live twitter Q&A with Paul today? I’d love to but I’m at work so not sure I can swing it beyond just reading it

I thought of it, but I’m not optimistic about the choice in question quality after the latest Peace Man episode.

It’s funny that “New” is trending. Anyone who’s not a fan is probably wondering, “whaaaa?”

One of the fans who was picked for the “Queenie Eye ” video wrote about her experiences at the Maccaboard.
Finally, at about 6pm, all the extras were summoned into Studio 2. STUDIO 2! The holiest of holies! It really is like stepping into a time capsule – that familiar parquet flooring, the acoustic baffles on the walls, the control room steps – WOW. So overcome by all this was I that it took me a moment to realise that the subtle tinkling coming from the piano was none other than Paul himself, who was sitting there, casually jamming away. We were all spaced out around the studio – some lounging on the rugs, some perching on the control room steps, some standing up on flight cases. They then basically did about 5 takes of everyone dancing away to the song, with Paul at the piano, followed by close-ups of various featured actors (such as some long-haired pagan types, a group of urban youths, etc).
Paul, looking healthy and happy in blue, and was wonderfully relaxed and chatty throughout. To witness him sitting there, ‘thinking out loud’ on the piano between takes – IN Abbey Road STUDIO 2 – was, without one of the highlights of my entire life. He broke into the odd jazz standard, a bit of Babyface, and a chorus of Lady Madonna . Whadda man. A Hofner bass was propped up on a stand behind him. I let my mind ring with all the fly-on-the-wall studio chatter from back in the day, and it was as if the past fifty years just drifted away. Magical. And to top it all off, Peter Blake was sitting on a chair just behind me!
And someone wrote a blog that describes the song itself.
Reportedly quite a trippy and fun song, Queenie Eye supposedly sounds like the hybrid offspring of The Beatles’ I A The Walrus from their Magical Mystery Tour album and Monkberry Moon Delight from one of Paul’s early solo studio albums Ram .

Haven’t heard it but I already love Early Days , where Paul is obviously reflecting on public perceptions of him and John. This is the way to fight your corner, not silliness like reversing the Lennon/McCartney credit.
Now everybody seems to have their own opinion
On who did this and who did that
But as for me I don’t see how they can remember
When they weren’t where it was at
They can’t take it from me if they try
I lived through those early days

* BBC interview with Paul, with a quote about “Early Days .”
When I write songs I don’t always think I’m going to make a statement. On the day (I wrote the track Early Days ) I was thinking about the past, particularly me and John in Liverpool in the early days so I just ran with that. I started to get images of us in the record shop listening to early rock and roll and looking at the posters and the joy that that gave me remembering all those moments.
So that song just evolved around that and then I found that one of the things that came was – you can’t take it away from me, even though you can say ‘hey this is what happened in Liverpool in the late 1950s but I’m going to say ‘were you there or did you just read about it?’ Because I was there and I was walking down that street – so it’s that kind of song. It gets a bit of a dig at people who say they know what it was all about but they weren’t there – but mainly it’s just fond memories for me.
