LMAO. I love when you get going, MMM. To be honest, though, it wasn’t that simple (at least not in the 80s when I started collecting). There were always a zillion 12″s just counting US and UK and then Japan was a whole other thing. And a lot of those b-sides never get put on CD so all you have is the vinyl. At least now I can count on an mp3 floating around somewhere if I can’t buy it…

Whatever happened to the days when you bought a cd and that was it? Nowadays if you to go iTunes you get this bonus track, amazon is another, if you order from Japan you get lyrics, pullouts, stickers, and an autographed toy monkey, Tesco paying 3 weeks in advance you get an alternate running order with different artwork, asda and you get a dvd interview, target is a limited edition box with t-shirt and alternate interview cd.If I buy the album I want the full thing (interview, stickers, interview). I don’t make it a bloody obstacle course where I have to draw up a spreadsheet filled with mathematical equations that compares all the options to work out what I want and where it is cheapest.
God forbid we got Pepper nowadays, you’d spend 4 months getting the artwork together.
I agree 100%. When the last U2 album came out I bought the ‘deluxe’ version to get the film ‘Linear’ and some extra art in the booklet. My daughter bought the ‘standard’ edition and got a bonus track – just crazy imho.
Anyone know which edition will have the autographed toy hedgehog? We had a holiday in the UK a while back and she is now obsessed with the prickly little beasts

Offline I remember several years back when Beck released Guero and someone asked him why in Japan they get more songs and artwork and the like rather than customers in the States. He replied “You’d have to ask UMG. It’s not my call.” So I don’t think the artist has a whole lot of (if any) say in how their music gets packaged, even an artist as legendary as Paul McCartney . (Though you’d think he would have some say there…)

Offline I’d like it to be released as vinyl. Even though it’s go its faults care/damage wise there’s something ever so nostalgic about playing a record. Mumford & Sons released it on vinyl, why not Macca?

Offline I think it probably will be released on vinyl, if ‘Kisses’ is anything to go by, anyway, because that was. That album “suited” vinyl more, I think, because of the Jazz-y, classic feel it has.

Yep, it definitely did come out. I almost bought it but never did because I wasn’t yet into that kind of music. Now I really wish I had. 
Edit: I’ve just realised something, I could still buy it! That was so, well, “blonde” of me. God , I’m tired. First if all I’m gonna go over to Amazon and buy the damn thing!

Offline I am loving his “New” single, and can’t wait to buy the album! It comes out right before my 30th Birthday ! I probably won’t be able to wait and see if someone buys it, I’ll be at HMV that day like the Paul addict I am! 
I bought the single on ITunes but I want the actual CD with the booklet and pictures and all that fun stuff. I hope it comes out on vinyl too.

No, actually I don’t know. Hopefully something. Perhaps I was too hasty in choosing? I don’t think I will get the autographed hedgehog as mentioned earlier. Oh well. I’ll enjoy it.

Offline Will there be a deluxe cd with the bonus tracks?
If not just release those 2 as a single or something like hidden tracks on the hardcopies instead of making people miss out if they don’t want to download? Unless in 3 months time we will get a deluxe edition cd with bonus tracks which seems to be common nowadays (and means some folks have to buy the same cd twice). Its these type of things that push people into downloading from torrent sites or ripping/copying someone else’s.

Well, I’ll probably do the same thing I did with Kisses. I’ll buy the vinyl edition and download the bonus tracks from a torrent site.

As far as I know the deluxe edition is on CD, too…it’s on Amazon.com

Great – thanks for the update.
I’m very excited about this – it will be the first new CD for me since I started ‘getting back’ into collecting Beatles CDs.
The same thing happened when I began buying Neil Young CDs again; two new ones, a great book, a world tour (so I got to see him and Crazy Horse in Sydney). I have seen Paul years ago but would love to see him tour down here again.
