What do people think of Paul's most recent studio album. I like it, because it is filled with great Songs such as Only Mama Knows, Dance Tonight,Ever Present Past and Nod Your Head.
Also, A question about Nod Your Head. The Lines “If you really love me baby,Better then stayin in bed” seem to be a dig at John And Yoko's Bed-ins from 1969. Is it a dig at Lennon, or a McCartney joke?

Offline I love Memory Almost Full ! Only Mama Knows is the best song to rock out to, Dance Tonight incites reminiscing of the Paul concert in July, which I'm always willing to look back on! And I like to think Vintage Clothes is a call to the young Beatlemaniacs, kind of telling us to be ourselves… that's probably not what he meant by the lyrics, but it's good enough for me! 
And about Nod Your Head, I don't think it's a reference to John. Then again I'm not too fond of the song in the first place so I don't think I would know! 
It's just one of those tunes where you think, “Paul, what on earth are you doing?”
I'm in love, but I'm lazy.

This is one of my favourite albums of his, I think. Ever Present Past, Only Mama Knows and House of Wax (especially the guitar solos!) are my favourites. And Dance Tonight is good too.
I'm not a fan of Nod Your Head. If that line was a reference to John, it would most likely be more of a nod (ba doom tss
) than a dig.
I think Paul is reaching a late career peak, because his recent work has been really good (hopefully he's still in his early career, though 
)

Offline Well, These lyrics are much more substantial and, also, Paul wasn't the only Beatle to dabble in lacking lyrics, George's lyrics were pretty bad in the late 70's

Offline Once again, It's all opinion. I happen to like all of George's albums even in the late 70's. To me Paul is a pop star. He likes being famous and the attention and there is nothing wrong with that. It's just not for me.
He is everywhere now in the media which to me hurts his image in my eyes. He is making himself too accessible and the mysticism is gone. It used to be if you ever saw one of the Beatles it was rare. I'm sure it is probably because I am more like George. Pretty much a recluse.
I like George because he was spiritual and a deep person. Once again this is my opinion.
George did not want to be famous. He just wanted to play guitar. To me there is more to life than just going around waving to everyone, giving the thumps up sign and going 'All Right!' ten times every time he does a concert.

I have not yet heard the album, but don't think it would be a dig against Mr. O'Boogie.
I could be way off base here (what are the odds?) but I recall hearing, in Anthology, Paul talk about his favorite thing to do as a kid was lay in bed on a Saturday morning. He referred to that as “the most delicious lay-ins ever”. If you think of those terms, the line may make more sense. However, we were not in his head (or bed) when he wrote it, so you'd have to ask him.

Offline I have to disagree. I feel his last great album was 'Driving Rain ' I cannot stand his last three albums except for a few songs. I guess we all have our opinions which is what makes this site so wonderful.
I still feel he did his best work was with Wings (especially with Linda's background vocals) but do love 'McCartney', 'Ram ', 'Tug Of War ', Flowers In The Dirt , 'Off The Ground , 'Flaming Pie ' and 'Driving Rain '.
Mr. Sun King never responded to my comments above from my December 27th post. I cannot believe there is no one else out there that agrees with my comments.

Hi Inner Light– I'm not sure what you are disagreeing with as there are 5 posts between your last on 12/27 and today's. In any event, you are absolutely correct about the varying opinions making this site wonderful. Glad you could be a part of it (especailly since you seem to be a fellow George fan).
I'm one of those who is such a hardcore fan of the group that I hardly have any of their solo material. I just went out and got John's box set, so I'm OK there – now I just have to go out and get some George and Paul (other than the compilations I already have).
I say all this because you mentioned Flaming Pie . That's about the 4th or 5th time I've seen someone in this forum write favorably about this album, so it is definitely on my wish list.

Offline Yes, I agree our opinions is what makes this site great. Just think, if we all agreed on everything, this site would be boring. (opposites attract)
I look forward to hearing your comments after you have listened to other solo efforts. Both George and Paul have excellent albums.

Offline Wow – another double post more than 3 months apart.
Listened to this for the first time today. It wasn't really my cup of tea. I will give it a second listen however, thanks to the second from last track, The End Of The End . It's really the only one that made me turn up the volume.
Initially, I'm glad I only paid $3 for it. I also thought, this may be a bit of a clunker (my opinion only) by Macca standards but most musical acts could only hope for something this good.
Still looking forward to exploring more solo stuff from the second Beatle.
