Wrong thread I’m afraid, @Into the Sky with Diamonds. It’s from McCartney III Imagined, and we have a thread for that.

I’m surprised some people are disappointed in it. I actually think it’s one of his better albums, more consistent than most. It’s true his voice has suffered, but he still gets his ideas across. Nothing wrong with being 78, beats the alternative.
I’m one of those people, and cant believe fans get sucked into buying all the coloured versions. It really isn’t a good album at all.
But, to each their own….

O come on Bongo, its pretty good. Paul’s last three NEW, Egypt Station and McCartney III have been a privilege to listen to. Lots of variation, some nostalgic tunes mixed in with Paul’s exploration of modern Pop or dance music. Sure its not as good as McCartney, but its worth everybody’s time to give these albums a listen to, and an absolute must-listen for fans of Paul.

It’s better than the last two but that’s like saying that getting slapped in the face with a roasting hot metal glove 11 times is better than being skinned alive then boiled down for a rather spiffing soup.
I hated everything about ‘New’ and the little I heard of ‘Egypt Station’ wasn’t much better.

…thats a bit harsh, to say the least. I loved all these albums, and I think just saying you didn’t care for it is enough without acting like no one in their right mind should enjoy it. Albums take time anyway. It’ll take years to figure out what the verdict really is. It’s someone’s favorite album, just not yours and that’s ok.

Of course it’s ok if it’s someone else’s favourite. We are all different and have different tastes.
I know a lot of people heavily dislike ‘Wild Life ‘ and don’t listen to it often at all yet I like a lot about it – and that’s been out for 51 years.
However I stand by what I said. I really dislike ‘New’ Now And Then . I hate the crap title (a lousy joke which failed to be remotely amusing when first told never mind almost a decade later) and the sound of the album isn’t for me. I’m not the only one who has mostly given up listening to Paul’s new material over the last 20 years, other people hail it as up there with his best work and that’s cool. If you love it then love it, don’t be influenced by some nonentity on a forum.
