I was out of the loop when I seen an ad on fb for this. While I like the covers I don’t really see why he releasing several different versions now. I dont understand why he didnt just do that in the first place when he released several different versions of the original. It’s a bit cash grabbing to me.

McCartney….cash grabbing?!?!? Never?!?
Off-topic but I wonder when/if It’s A Wonderful Life will be staged? I’ll definitely try and get a first night ticket for that.

He’s done that with all of his recent albums. New and Egypt Station both had standard and deluxe versions the days they were released, then he later released “super deluxe” versions of the them and $300 boxset for Egypt Station.

It’s not just Paul, a lot of artists issue further expanded editions 3 to 6 months later as it makes fans buy everything again to get extra material. It’s nothing more than a cash grab by the record company but is it any different to releasing a greatest best of hits compilation with one new song on; you have to pay full album price for one song as often the new track is only available when you purchase the whole thing online.

I really like Beck’s take on the song, but I’m amazed that anyone signed off on the deep fake. It’s not like there’s no footage of what he actually looked like at that age. I spent the first full watch of the video trying to figure out if it was a crap lookalike, or actually Beck in makeup, or I don’t know what. Reading quotes from the company that made the deep fake saying their product is “ready” made me laugh. It’s so terrible!
My hot take is that after the Beatles split they went down the paths of spiritualism, solipsism, alcoholism, and Paul McCartney

I listened to this once on Spotify and was not impressed. I hate how I see this album around way more than the original album which is a masterpiece! Just skip this album and listen to the original again. You’ll have a better experience.

My first listen through was on YouTube, and I think that was a mistake. I’m enjoying it much more now I’m just listening with no video. So far it’s still not competing with I and II for me, but I’ll give it a chance.
I think III Imagined is a really interesting idea, but I don’t like all of the results. Deep Deep Feeling in particular is so disappointing. I feel that song has a *lot* of potential for effective remixes. I have it in my head that something akin to the soundscape of I Want You (She’s So Heavy) could be amazing.

My album review:
Find My Way – Beck
– Nice track, I might like it better than the original
Kiss of Venus – Dominic Fike
– Love this, it’s so fun
Pretty Boys – Khruangbin
– I bopped through this and then and found some of their other stuff before coming back to III imagined. Dat bass!
Women And Wives – St. Vincent
– I struggle to get through this whole song. I’ve tried before with some of her own stuff and she just doesn’t do anything for me.
Deep Down – Blood Orange
– it’s … fine. I wouldn’t go looking for it, but I wouldn’t turn it off.
Seize the Day – Phoebe Bridges
– I quite like this. It kind of helps me to imagine what it would be like to hear Paul sing this with when he was young.
Slidin’ – EOB
– Pretty cool, not the kind of music I generally listen to, but it suits the song
Long Tailed Winter Bird – Damon Albarn
– Does the beginning of this remind anyone else of that youtube channel “shitty flute”? Not a patch on the original. I was expecting to like this, because I like Albarn and Gorillaz generally.
Lavatory Lil – Joshua Homme
– I like this. Fun take, and it suits his voice.
When Winter Comes – Anderson Paak
– Funky. Not at all what I was expecting. I think I like it.
Deep Deep Feeling – 3DN RDN
– This was very disappointing. I was hoping it would give me the full immersive sound that I wanted from the song, and it didn’t come near. Makes me wish I knew how to do music production.
