My internet connection is very slow now but I’m checking the concert… it’s fantastic. I mean, it’s not what I’m used to listening from Paul but the musicians are awesome…..

My Dad has been listening to the itunes concert, and he says the orchestra is magnificent. It seems it’s going to be the first complete Beatles related album he will hear LOL!!

KOTB has entered the UK album charts at number 3 making it Pauls most successful album placement since 1997 when Flaming Pie made it to #2, surpassing Memory Almost Full which reached #5 in 2007.
Fantastic. The album deserves success and a high placing. Go Paul.

Itunes are going to release the concert Paul did in Capitol Towers a few days ago, however its scheduled to only have 9 out of the 13 songs included (tho that may change as the contents are subject to change – as is any album prerelease). Why not release the whole show, whats the point of putting it out incomplete?

The irritating thing about this is that the deluxe edition of the album was supposed to contain a digital download of the performance. It only gave us four recordings (no video)! It would have been nice to get the whole thing, and now itunes is releasing it?? Blah…that’s not right. Oh, well…I can just watch it on youtube!
I think maybe Paul isn’t too happy with all of the recordings? Maybe he doesn’t like the ones where he messed up a little, though I thought messing up was kind of neat. Anyway, who knows?

There is a bit of anger online from those who had gotten the voucher for the free recordings but found they only got the 4 tracks. Supposedly the wording wasnt very concise and open to interpretation.
I wonder if those who do have the free tracks will still have to pay the full $6.99 price, which seems a bit of a rip off for 5 tracks. Plus will many fans want to spend money on an incomplete performance which is freely available and complete on the net already.

Hate to be a dissenting voice …. but here we go.
Not quite rock bottom, but not strong either. “My Valentine ” is a stand-out that I predict will shortly be covered by Michael Bublé (the middle eight is hyper schmaltzy, but the rest of the song makes up for it). “Only Our Hearts” is weak, but the harmonica work by Stevie Wonder is phenomenal. I’m sure there’s a way of cutting out the song and leaving the instrumental break.
As for the rest of the record, there’s a reason why we don’t hear those songs anymore: by today’s standards (standards ironically enough set by McCartney himself), IMHO they are boring. A strong, unusual voice, say a Louis Armstrong, could pump some life into these melodies. But that’s simply not Macca’s strong suite. His singing comes off as thin, even old – not the McCartney voice we know and love.
I’m thrilled for him that Kisses is doing so well on the British charts and that he’s gracing the cover of Rolling Stone (I still worry about that left eye) – he’s produced a great deal of wonderful material that’s gone nowhere, so things have a way of averaging out.
P.S. I do think the title’s clever what with the kiss-my-ass double entendre.

What’s wrong with his left eye? It looks like it always has to me. His eyes have never been quite proportional, with the left being a little more droopy. It’s how you can always tell when a Beatles photograph has been flipped.

Kedame, take a look at the Jan 31 post. His right eye is looking straight ahead while his left eye looks left. That got me paying attention. You’re probably right – one side always being a little different; maybe I’m just noticing it more now.

Question–if one were to buy the deluxe USA version of this album, would the download code for the iTunes live songs and the two extra album tracks still work, or has it expired?
Also, it is supremely annoying that there is a deluxe 14 song version (which is the same number of songs as the non-deluxe version), as well as a 16-track version.
If you buy the deluxe 14 track version (USA) you get the other two tracks as a digital download. So, for those of us in the USA you have to buy the European version if you want the extra tracks to be actually ON the CD.
But does anyone know where I can find this 16-track version (all tracks on the CD) for under 20 US dollars?
Oh, and I guess I should specify “for under 20 dollars and not the counterfeit Japanese or counterfeit Russian Federation versions,” which are masquerading as the real deal on eBay.

I just went ahead and bought an expensive copy. It’s not like I wasn’t given enough free stuff by Beatles friends. Also bought the live set on iTunes. Now I have all the CDs except the Wings CDs that are expensive and hard to find…I’ll wait until the archive releases.

This one of my favorite Paul McCartney albums. I recently found a 31-track Complete Kisses set on iTunes that has the complete Capitol studios live recordings and more bonus tracks. It even has Paul singing The Christmas Song.

I think his aged voice is well suited to these songs.
It really is. Kisses On The Bottom is a super cute album.
