There are definitely some weak tracks on there, but I still think it’s one of Paul’s best albums. It’s got that “back to the Beatles basics” feel to it, which is great.
Some of the songs suffer from the slapdash approach. “Really Love You” is not a good song, but I can get through it because I like listening to Ringo’s drums. Which is odd, because he really isn’t doing anything, just keeping that solid beat.

Listening to this since it was released on this day in 1997 and man I forgot how good this album is. I find it particularly touching how Paul went back to writing a lot of songs inspired by/directed toward Linda (his best work generally was, in my humble opienion), and the album closes with a song that features her singing (which I really like), since she passed away less than a year after its release. It almost serves as a prehumous(?) tribute to her.
