Maybe he’s referring to how long his guitar has been his “confidante”, @Ahhh Girl. I can only say he introduced it as a new song about his guitar.

The Titanic – despite repeated warnings – lolAnyone else think this song might be about The Beatles/John?
These seem kinda reminiscent of the song illustrations for All the Best!
BTW, the album’s complete track listing has been released:
1. “Opening Station”
2. “I Don’t Know”
3. “Come On to Me”
4. “Happy with You”
5. “Who Cares”
6. “Fuh You”
7. “Confidante”
8. “People Want Peace”
9. “Hand in Hand”
10. “Dominoes”
11. “Back in Brazil”
12. “Do It Now”
13. “Caesar Rock”
14. “Despite Repeated Warnings”
15. “Station II”
16. “Hunt You Down/Naked/C-Link”
I wonder which one is the Trump song? Or did it even make the final cut?

Here’s a Record Collector Review of ‘Egypt Station’. Generally favourable, concluding:
So, yes, good album, with some obligatory pratfalls, very few longeurs and several quality flashes of the innate melodic gift that, after all, put him precisely where he is. During those best bits, the “he’s 76, after all” qualifier becomes utterly redundant.
I don’t think the Rolling Stone article Paul McCartney’s Producer Greg Kurstin Breaks Down ‘Egypt Station’ has been posted here before. I found it to be an interesting and revealing interview:
How did your respect for Paul as an artist deepen and change during this whole process?
I learned a lot about him. I love that he’s pushing the boundaries in his songwriting harmonically and lyrically. I was really struck by the chords that he’d bring into the session. I’m a pianist myself, so I was just amazed at his harmony and his use of melody and chords in the past. I would see him bringing in new chord progressions that I still haven’t heard. Just when you think you’ve heard everything in recorded music, he brings in a song like “Despite Repeated Warnings.” I have never heard a song ever written with that chord progression.

Mmm, I like this:
Dominoes pleasingly shares a smattering of backward guitar with the Syd Barrett song of the same name
First connection I made when I saw the tracklist. I love Barrett’s ‘Dominoes’.

I haven’t been hyped up about something since Star Trek: Beyond, so I decided to pick this. I haven’t listened to any recent solo stuff from Ringo/Paul so I’m going all out here. I might as well throw a party I’m so excited. WHOOOOO.

If you’ve not heard New you’re missing out. Go listen to it right now (and don’t listen to meanmistermustard about it).

I’m trying to decide if I want to go ahead and pre-order the edition being sold by Target that has the 2 extra songs or hold out to see what the Super Deluxe Edition is going to be and when it is going to be available for pre-order. I signed up to get notified when the SDE is going to go on pre-sale.

I always do things old school and wait until release day to hear an album, because back in the days of records and tapes that’s what you had to do. I’m excited to finally hear these songs tomorrow!

Was giving this album a first listen on Spotify last night, until my battery ran out in the middle of Do It Now. So far, I’m impressed, seeing as Fuh You sort of brought down my hopes for it at first. Now, that song has become an earworm that’s grown on me! My favourites up to where I got are the songs Happy With You, Who Cares, Confidante (Paul’s ode to the guitar ) and Dominoes. People Want Peace sounds like it could be a Ringo song from one of his recent albums and Back In Brazil sounds like a bonus track from McCartney II , which aren’t bad things, just what I get from them. Will listen to everything over later on and then hopefully watch the concert afterwards.
