Wow. I don’t want to offend you but I’ve never come across anyone who actually believed all that crap. I think they were just plain coincidences. I know our lads were pretty special people but could they really have planned it all (or even some of it)? Plus, there’s no evidence that points to any of the ”clues” being done on purpose.

As for the ‘Paul is dead’ at the end of Rev. #9, I think you hear it because you’ve read that some people believe it says something. So you, perhaps without realising, are trying to hear it. I may be wrong, but I don’t think they did it knowingly.

I’ve never heard “Paul is dead” when you play it backwards, but I’ve heard the “Turn me on, dead man” and Yoko clearly says “Satan, Look At Me , please.”

There is no way they did any of the “clues” on purpose. The Paul is dead thing didn’t start until 1969, after Abbey Road came out. So why would they be playing off something that nobody was even thinking. None of the clues would lead anybody to think Paiul died in 1966. The only reason people find clues is because they want to. None of the clues are at all convincing, I wouldn’t even call any of them coincidences. It’s just people seeing what they want.

^ Yep. If you want to see something enough, you’ll see it.

Was listening to a Radio 2 programme which had a feature on Abbey Road and supposedly they all were going to wear a certain make of suit (Tommy Nutter) but George turned up in his Denims. It had nothing to do with grave digging and therefore wasn’t a clue to having buried Paul. In my head it was all coincidence only which people began to interpret to fit to an already settled hypothesis (not a method Sherlock Holmes would have approved of).

The Paul is dead myth would also have to explain this apparent impostor who’s been so visible and successful all these decades and who looks like the spitting image of him…blue-meanie

I don’t believe any of the Paul is dead stuff – but the one “clue” you can’t deny is John singing in Glass Onion “and here’s another clue for you all, the Walrus was Paul” – now that is direct, pre-1969 and not a coincidence because it refers back to the cover shot from Magical Mystery Tour – where the Walrus has the hand over it’s head – which supposedly was a sign of death.

And I don’t buy any part that it happened – but we can’t deny John’s line – meaning the Beatles were fueling the hoax by 1968.

John’s own comment: “I threw the line in — ‘the Walrus was Paul’ — just to confuse everybody a bit more.”

“where the Walrus has the hand over it’s head – which supposedly was a sign of death.”

In what context does having a hand over your head signify death?  I’ve never heard such a thing.

Here’s Mr. Adorable himself talking about it on Letterman:

I agree with everyone else.  Its coincidences.  You can create a conspiracy out of anything.  I remember reading about the MMT Black rose thing, and they simply didn’t have enough red ones, so Paul took the black one.  Pure coincidence.

It’s like that “documentary” on Netflix that people actually believe.  It’s such crap!  I’m not even getting into it.  ahdn_paul_01

How can John be fueling a hoax 18 months before it began – or I am not understanding that correctly?

My point is that I think the hoax began before 1969 and that somewhere in their personal twisted sense of humor the Beatles began pushing this Paul is Dead thing along somewhere in 1966 or 1967. They may not have started it – but they jumped on it –

Based on what though? Name one source that has a public rumour of Paul’s “death” in the time period you’re quoting (’66-’67) that The Beatles could have jumped onto. In all my years following them, and with all that I have read and researched over those years, I have never seen anywhere even the slightest suggestion of the “Paul Is Dead” rumour predating 1969.

You say, “They may not have started it”, then who and when are you suggesting? Without saying that they picked up on this rumour started by this person/these people at this time you’re attempting a new rumour without anything to stand it on. You’re suggesting they jumped on a bandwagon, I’m asking what bandwagon?

EDIT: The other problem with your theory is that there is NO hand above the Walrus’s head on the cover of MMT.

The hand above Paul’s head occurs on the cover of Sgt. Pepper .

As far as I know PiD started in Autumn(?) 1969 by DJ’s in America, there was nothing before then. I don’t get how any of the Beatles could fuel a conspiracy before the conspiracy was known unless they were involved in it from the start and it was all a deliberate act.

Excellent input from everyone about Paul’s “death.” I was young and stupid then..I believed anything. I should have known God could never have created TWO gorgeous specimans…there’ll only ever be the one Paul McCartney . But, if they ever decide to clone someone, I vote we clone Paul!

you’re obviously correct and I mashed the two album covers in my fading memory – Paul as the Walrus in MMT and the hand over his head in Sgt Pepper . But that doesn’t dilute the fact that in Glass Onion John says, “Here’s another clue for you all, the Walrus was Paul” that line didn’t come out of nowhere – or maybe it did. BTW I don’t for a minute believe that Paul is or was dead.

Didn’t he say it could have been the fox, wolf, pig or caterpillar was Paul? Glass Onion was written with the idea of messing with fans who were pouring over lyrics trying to find hidden meanings in past Beatle songs and here we have fans pouring over Glass Onion trying to find hidden meanings in a song that was written to mess with fans who were looking for hidden meanings.
