It’s definitely one of the fake interviews Weird Al has done from time to time. Basically, he has this genius ability to take actual interviews, match the lighting, and come up with nonsensical questions. I don’t know where the original Paul interview is from, and I wish I did. Clearly it was from Paul’s Wacky Macca period.

There were rumors that Paul answers in the Weird Al interview weren’t taken from a different, legit interview like the others and it was an actual bit done with Al and Paul. I really wanna know if that’s true or not!
That interview was mentioned here as being fake. That’s all I know about it. Perhaps someone else has more of a scoop on it.?.?
Note : I moved StarrisonSubmarine’s post to this thread to keep it with the other Paul interview. Well, it sorta is an “interview”. Right? If someone can think of a better place, please let me know.
It’s probably the best place for it. I wasn’t aware of this thread sorry.
It was my boyfriend who kept insisting it might be an actual interview though he may have been trying to yank my chain.
All I know is it seems to be from 1996. Macca would have known about it since Weird Al asks for permission before releasing anything. I just imagine this is a level of craziness Paul would have gone along with. I’ve found a George one too the quality isn’t as good but it’s just as funny.

Rumours the interview is fake?!! Its blatantly obvious from watching it its a cut and paste job and not a very good one.
As I mention above, that’s completely deliberate for comic effect. I remember as a teen when he did that with a Prince interview and it aired on Friday Night Videos. This might have been the first.

I know they are very popular, same as that impressionist on youtube folk rave over (Steve something or other?) whereas i’d rather reverse a car over a cliff than watch it. I dont find wacky funny (i get a rapid desire to hit them with bits of wood, metal etc) and i hate impressionists. Thats what makes the world what it is and why i like to be away from it.

Yeah. I think it’s funny. I think it’s hilarious whether you do or don’t. It certainly boats my float. I love Weird Al. Some people think he’s far too silly for their sophisticated humour tastes.
Humour is a very subjective thing. I like a lot of comedians. There is few I dislike. I just love to laugh.

And that is how it should be so post away with these.
I love unsophisticated humour, i just have never found wacky to be funny, all my family are the same in that it bypasses us.

That interview^^is fantastic @parlance, thanks (and not because I find him so cute). Isn’t the information discussed in this session what drew most of us to this forum in the first place?
I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

In the Examiner article it writes
The nine-page story, written by Mark Blake (with photos by Alex Lake) reveals that in putting together the upcoming reissue for “Tug Of War ” he discovered a second duet done with Stevie Wonder besides “Ebony And Ivory ” called “That’s What You’re Doing ” and calls “Bip Bop” his worst ever song (“The lyrics are f—— awful”).
I presume Paul forgot about it instead of making it sound like a new duet (scared the crap out of me for a second did the thought of a third duet between the two since the others are awful) but the song is ‘What’s That You’re Doing’ not ‘That’s What You’re Doing ‘.

I wish my scanner worked. I have read the heck out of that interview and there is some really cute pictures of Paul as well as nice little segments about different songs, I Saw Her Standing There , Things We Said Today , Penny Lane , Mother Natures Son, Maybe I’m Amazed , Jet , Coming Up and That was me. I thought there was some interesting little bits of information. I also like how the John Lennon calender in his kitchen was pointed out specifically. “A quick scan of the studio kitchen reveals a copy of Mary McCartney’s recipe book and a John Lennon calender; March’s pin-up is “Moody John” in sunglasses posed against a New York skyline.”

Paul McCartney interview in the Mirror 29 May 2015.
There’s lots in the article. Here’s the part I like.
Well THAT and this:
“Nancy is great at keeping me grounded because she’s very level-headed,” he says.
“When we met I wondered how she’d react to it all.
“She got some great offers to do stuff in magazines for just being who she was – Mrs McCartney – and stuff that a lot of other girls would be like, ‘Woah, I’ve gotta do that!’
“But she said no. She’s the head of a trucking company and she basically said, ‘No, I’ve already got a job’.
He adds: “Nancy’s got a low profile and wants to be able to walk around unnoticed. She’s sensible, and it’s refreshing. She is very grounding.”
“Who wears the trousers in in our house? We both do. Oh go on, then… she does!”
Indeed, he also has Nancy to thank for his fresh-faced appearance.
When I ask if he moisturises (because OF COURSE this is what you ask a Beatle) he sheepishly confesses to borrowing her creams.
“Nancy’s got some stuff so yeah, I do moisturise now,” he smiles.
“I do it thinking it is completely poofy, but she assures me that men do it now.”
The part about his family in Liverpool is touching.

That was enjoyable reading.
I found this bit fun:
As he munches on a handful of dried fruit and nuts, I don’t quite know where to go from here. I am literally speechless.
“I’ve totally thrown you, haven’t I?” he grins. Yes, Paul, yes you have.
This bit was also nice:
Despite his fame, success and wealth (£710 million at the last count), he remains remarkably sane. And, well, nice.
