Fascinating interview — the clickbaity title left a bad taste in my mouth but I loved hearing all that about their family. Linda really is an amazing photographer, Paul always hams for cameras but Linda was one of the few people on earth who managed to capture his non-public face.

Something new I learned from that video is that:a) Paul wrote All You Need Is Love
b) He wrote it in his teens
I wonder if Stella had another song in mind (or did she just get this section completely wrong)? She may have been thinking of ‘All My Loving ‘, which also starts with the word ‘all’, likewise contains ‘love’/’loving’ in the title, and was written by Paul of course? However, he wrote that song in 1963 so he was out of his teens.

It has to be remembered that Newsnight is the BBC’s leading in-depth nightly news programme in the UK, and we’re rather consumed by Brexit at the moment. It’s also, so far as I know, Paul’s first definitive statement on Brexit. He’s always tended to skirt around what he thinks of it previously.
It’s also interesting as Newsnight were the first programme to get Ringo’s view on Brexit, and though he seems to spend very little time here, he was very in favour of Brexit and was fed-up we hadn’t already left, so it showed a divide between the remaining Beatles on the subject.

I love the part of that interview where Paul says he and Nancy went to the cinema to see the movie Yesterday . Nice that he would rather see it in a cinema with other people rather than a private screening.
I wonder if he had popcorn and a Coke?

Think of all the interviews Paul has done since 1962. You might think he has answered every question that could be asked of him, but I doubt it. If you had the opportunity to interview Paul, what question(s) would you have for Paul that hasn’t been asked/answered before?
GRANDFATHER: Why do you always use your left hand?
PAUL: Well, don't be daft, I've got to.
GRANDFATHER: And I take a left-handed view of life, I've got to.

Lengthy and interesting interview done for September’s issue of GQ. Photographs by Mary during lockdown.
It’s a great wide-ranging interview. Well worth a few minutes of your time.

That was one of the better Paul interviews, imo. He seemed very open, and happy to talk.
Also one of the longer interviews of his I’ve read!

The first interview with Paul about McCartney III has been given to the Loud and Quiet magazine/website.
17 minute interview given to BBC 6 Music yesterday (22nd) about McCartney III (also taking in McCartney, McCartney II , the pandemic, the future of live music, and Peter Jackson’s Get Back ):

I like it when Paul chats to other musicians – he tends to not recycle the same stories we’ve heard a million times. And, because he’s talking to someone on a similar path, he seems to open up more about the creative process, touring etc.

While I’m here, I’ve gathered quotations from Paul on most of the McCartney III tracks, but I haven’t read anything yet from him about ‘Pretty Boys ‘, ‘Slidin’, and ‘Deep Down’. If you happen to find anything, please link it here and @ me.

has Paul’s last name spelled McCarthy!!!!!!!!!! Come on, Rolling Stone, I expect better from you!
If it hadn’t of been Mary taking the pictures, I might wonder what Taylor’s left hand is doing and why the picture had to be cropped. Not jealous of that thought at all.
