I agree she is quite the badass. Her new album is awesome.

Am I crazy or has Paul not “made peace” with Yoko several times over the past 2-3 years? I thought they made peace when the Beatles Rock Band came out, and possibly on John’s 70th birthday. I’m glad he has made peace with her. I am anxious to read the article in Rolling Stone. I wonder if she’ll make a statement about this…and maybe allow him to come to the Dakota??

No, you’re not. Even earlier, I thought. I’m not sure why this keeps being news.

When Paul called Yoko “badass,” I hope he was referring to her maverick rock and roll attitude, and not the “Two Virgins ” album cover. That would ignite the ongoing feud all over again.

Didn’t they make peace and then make a record together? Or did they make the record and then fall out again? I suppose the main question is “who cares?”. Is this really news anyway, are we still in a world where Yoko is seen as a Beatle-stealing, band-destorying bitch? I hope’d and thought we’d all moved on.
More than likely a way to sell some papers or get visits on their website.

I thought all the eyes were on John and his, erm, manhood. Maybe Pa…, probably best not to go there, we have a thread for that elsewhere.

She did make a statement, and it is in the article:

Regarding Paul’s calling Yoko a “badass”, my initial reaction to that was that it was an insult (I’d be offended if someone called me that!) But, then, I remembered that is a compliment today. (I did think of the Two Virgins album cover at the time.) Thanks for Yoko’s statement….geez, can she be less sincere? I just found her reply to be very ambivalent..very Yoko! And…thanks to all of you for reassuring me I’m not crazy! I just kept thinking…I’ve heard all this before!

Yoko’s comment reminds me of George’s when told that Paul would like to write a song together and he said something like “well, i’ve been here for the last for 20 years and now he’s interested”, i think late 80’s. Someone surely can find the same quote.
Going even more off-topic whilst trying to find the above quote (and failing miserably), found an article where Olivia says that an idea of hers was to have various people finish off work-in-progress George compositions and one could be Paul. Would be interesting to see where that went tho not sure how George would respond.

*Yawn* – didn’t they get sorted when “Anthology” came out?
I think there are deep-seated issues there which will NEVER get resolved, especially at their age. Even when you DO watch Anthology you get the impression George would quite happily sink a knife into Paul’s back if he had the opportunity. It can be hard, even impossible, to get over deep-seated bitterness whatever you say in public.

I know what you’re talking about and can’t find the video at the moment, but according to this site, it was an ’88 interview and the quote is “I’ve only been there about 30 years in Paul’s life and it’s like now he wants to write with me.”

Not as much as you would think, seeing how she refused to let Paul have the credit for Yesterday order as “Paul McCartney , John Lennon ” instead of “John Lennon , Paul McCartney “. Honestly, everyone knows it’s a Paul song, but then again, Paul’s name first doesn’t sound right to me. That, or I’m notorious for taking her side 99% of the time. Whoops.
But seriously, I saw this last night my friend (who was the one who told me) texted me:
“PAUL CALLED YOKO A BADASS I’VE BEEN DANCING FOR AN HOUR I’M GONNA HURT MYSELF”
“I had to stop dancing I hurt myself “

The whole McCartney/Lennon songwriting change was such a bore. Does it really matter two vegetarian sausages who comes first? Does anyone really look at a song like Yesterday and think that because Lennon comes first he wrote most of it?

I guess because the general public still thinks she broke up The Beatles. I mean how many times does it get brought up interviews?
I find quite funny for Paul to call her a badass.

Wondered this earlier, are people still honestly believing that Yoko split up the Beatles. I know it’s used as a joke in a lot of the media but surely the planet has moved on.

^ Well, I think it was obviously a contributing factor, but more in the way John acted rather than anything in particular Yoko did. I suspect the general public (whoever they are) don’t have insights into how the four of them were all drifting in different directions – now – if they would just release ‘Let it Be’ – the film!!

But even some of those people who were around they broke up and Let It Be was originally released still believe she broke them up. I do not know why they can’t moved past it, other than its something to laugh about, you know Yoko jokes, or not wanting to believe the truth.

Disappointing news. Can you blame Yoko for John falling in love and wanting to be with her all the time. John brought her in the studios, he could have told her no and left her at home. But no doubt he was brainwashed by some chemical or potion or her Japaneesiness.

Well I’ve managed to get over it all anyway – I mean I bought that crazy “Wedding Album ” the other day. I was even about to buy “Double Fantasy ‘ at the 2nd hand shop as well but someone else got in first – I had avoided it up to now as back when I had it last I didn’t like jumping up and down skipping every 2nd song on the LP. I had skipped buying it a few months back as I have pretty much all of the John tracks in the “Gimme Some Truth ” box.
Please note – this was just because the music didn’t suit me at the time – I liked Yoko’s work on “Sometime in New York City”.
