I would like to see him collaborate with
1. Prince – both of these guys seem to know how to write a love song and I think this collaboration would yield some really great music if Prince would be willing to relinquish some creative control on the music side
2. Bootsy Collins – both bass players, Bootsy Collins is all about love and funk and I think Paul could find some ideological parallels and Bootsy has a one of kind character to lend to the track. Certainly would have to be something happy and fun
3. George Clinton – much like above . . but turn the funk up. This would probably require a very upbeat Paul McCartney
4. Max Martin – probably the most successful producer and songwriter of the past twenty years. I believe him and Paul are the only songwriters to have #1s over a 20 year span – a venerated love song writer and I think these two could definitely consolidate on a theme that would yield commercial success. If Paul wants to another #1 record this could be the path. Perhaps collaborating on a whole album together but definitely one with Max Martin as the producer and perhaps another where they write a song together

Artists no longer here that I wish Paul would’ve collaborated with
1. Harry Nielson – I really see Harry Nielson as one of the most overlooked songwriting talents of his time. For me, Paul’s “For No One ” is one of the most amazing songs ever written regarding a relationship dynamic/break-up and I almost feel like Harry Nielson’s “Without Her” is a worthy thematic sequel
2. Tupac – this one probably sounds weird to you. It might not make sense . . but throw them both in the studio and see what happens. The only way I could see this working would be Paul writing the music and performing the chorus and then leave the verses to Tupac
3. Bob Marley – this one makes a bit more sense than the previous one “Is This Love”, “Could You be Loved”
What do you guys think about these selections and who would you like to see Paul collaborate with?

This one’s easy for me.I’d love Paul to collaborate with Liam and Noel Gallagher. That would be amazing. I doubt it will ever happen,as the Gallagher’s are constantly at odds with each other, but we can all dream can’t we?

I have to go with what the first guy said. Prince. It would’ve been pretty eccentric, but i think it would’ve been awesome. Outside of Prince and the other ones mentioned, i think a Bowie collab would’ve been great. I would’ve also loved a Grateful Dead/ Jerry Garcia collab.

A Bowie collab would have been fab. Same with Grateful Dead/Jerry Garcia.

Well he did collaborate with Noel.
I’d love to see a proper collaboration with Paul Weller. Also Neil Finn would be great as he always brings a mixture of John and Paul Beatleyness to his music. Another one I’d like to see is with Brian Wilson (I know they did a small thing back in the sixties).

Coincidentally, 4 years ago on this forum I suggested a threesome:

Mmmm….a bit unsure here as I really wish he hadn’t bothered at all with both Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson… If pushed, I would probably have to go with either Brian Wilson or Bowie (in the early to mid 70’s) although his brief collaboration with Elvis Costello on the Flowers In The Dirt album wasn’t too bad at all…
And my bird can't sing......!!
