Here is my little write up of the concert. It’s me first attempt at this. I put it as a spoiler because I don’t know what people want to know right now. I am working on more for myself to remember the concert by, but this is it for the moment.
Paul McCartney Concert Review
On the anniversary of Paul’s first solo album release date and Linda McCartney’s death we arrived at the concert venue an hour before the concert started and stepped in line We found our seats after buying some things from the memorabilia stand and watched the different people come in and fill the arena as we sat in our $150 seats. All different ages and even in our own row there was a 5 year old girl. The venue in Seattle holds 16,000 and I could feel that this was a different concert than any I had been to before. The feeling that a man who changed to face of music forever was in the building somewhere and soon will be in front of us and ready to rock!
A DJ came out 30 minutes prior to the show and played some cool remixes of the Beatles music mostly focusing on songs that Paul wrote/sang lead on. It was good mixing and I enjoyed the preshow entertainment. The DJ had his set up as a mixing table and computer and it wasn’t just a “LOVE” feel , so it was totally different sounded. At about 10 till show time a “spool” of Paul pictures and videos rotated around going through his past (life and musical career). That was on the four screens on the stage.
The lights went down and the crowd stood up and started to cheer and then he walked out to center stage… He walked out with his Hofner Bass in hand. It was so unreal to me. It was my first time to see him in person and one dream for me was coming true before my eyes! He went right to it. He started into A Hard Day’s Night and he had backup from two guys (with guitars) on either side on him while he sang at the center microphone.
Without giving too much away, he went through a lot of songs. He played bass, guitar, grand and upright piano, acoustic guitar, and ukulele. He did old Beatles music, Wings songs, new songs. He rocked on and on. Three hours of concert with a tiny break before an encore. Krist Novoselic made a guest appearance too! I don’t think a lot of people knew who he was or cared, but it was cool to see lots of music history on one stage.
I did by the $150 tickets and I do not regret buying them at all. It is a smaller venue here but I was close enough to see it all (iPhone pictures sucked though) and enjoyed every minute of it. Great show Paul! Thank you for rocking so long for all of us.

I wrote up a little something about the humorous (at least to me) way I heard about Paul’s Hershey concert and my looking forward to it…just a fun little thing I figured my fellow Beatles/Macca fanatics might enjoy reading 🙂

I’m glad to hear you sealed your deal – looking forward to meeting you before the show!
We normally don’t do the pre-sale thingy – love the guy, but not THAT much. I had floor seats the last time and it was great. But, as I told you via PM, I missed so much by not seeing the actual stage. It too was part of the show as there were lighting effects under the band’s feet – I saw none of that until the YouTube videos came out the next day! My brother paid a lot less than I did for his seat and he saw more. For that kind of money, I want to see everything!
I’ll wait til tix go on sale to “Joe Public” on Friday. If they sell out before I get them, I’ll just get discounted tickets through a broker. Our company has a “concierge” as one of our employee benefits and we get discounts on literally millions of products/services. Hopefully, I’ll score some decent seats with a nice view.

We watched as Paul added shows in the USA, and finally, last Friday, one was announced an hour from us. We arranged short-term financing, made the (not much of a) decision to forego a 2-day stay at Abbey Road on the River and grabbed two excellent floor seats! July 10, there’s a rockshow…we’ll be there, oh yeah…
Now to avoid reading the spoilers in this topic for two months!

Right on! I didn’t go nuts with expensive tickets and we’re back a section from the front so as to avoid what you mentioned (I also remember in 2013 with the rising stage when he does his acoustic songs that those in the front end up not being able to see him! 😆 )
