This song, on the remastered Venus And Mars (but apparently not on the originally issued album) is amazingly vibrant and “busy” — in a good way!

‘My Carnival’ was kept over from the ‘V&M’ sessions, only seeing an official release in 1986 on the b-side of ‘Spies Like Us’ (a suitable dreadful song for what is a dreadful film – the song really is utter s**t).
A party mix of ‘My Carnival’ was issued on the 12″ ‘SLU’ single (tho it should run for a little over 6 minutes so that video fades early – i think its the version available on iTunes). An almost 9 minute version is out there in the bootleg world.
Its a fun but not great track, tho listening to it alongside ‘SLU’ and its groundbreaking in its brilliance.
Edit: Looking at my iTunes library and wiki there are two mixes of ‘My Carnival’ on the 12″, one a remix by John Potoker lasting 7:10, the other remixed by Gary Langan and with a 6 minutes length.
To be honest i forget this single existed in its entirety.
