Ahhh Girl has brought up a very interesting point I’d never thought of:
How would a person McCartney (on anyone else) is describing in a song feel about that song?
I like the way an incredibly successful / famous person like Sir Paul takes the time over and over again to write about far less fortunate people; but how do these people feel about written and sung about?
Does he/she think “Wow, he’s writing a great song about me – that’s so cool”? or “What makes him think he really gets me?” or “Great, he’s making a buck off my plight” …
I absolutely love “Footprints”; but how would an old man having to pick up wood in a snowy forest feel about “Footprints”?
