I applied for the seatfiller lottery, but no joy.

That would have been cool. I’d be slipping Paul drinks laced with diuretics, increasing my chance to sit in his chair. “Hey Nance – can I call you Nance? – how’s it going?”
Dang, Zig and I would make a good team (thanks for the idea, AD40)! I’m loving this scenario. I don’t even need a seat. I can just hang out by the men’s room and grab Paul’s attention when he comes out. I’ll buy you as much time as I can, Zig. I promise.

@Zig But shouldn’t the diuretics be slipped to Nance so you can sit next to Paul? “Hey P – can I call you P?”

As good as a plan is, it can always be better. Thanks, p!

Kanye just got introduced onstage as performing with Paul, if you’re watching the East Coast feed.
Edit: He did Only One, but I didn’t see Paul. Maybe I misheard and they were just mentioning the collaboration.

I meant to mention this earlier – I like that Paul led the standing ovation for Stevie Wonder.

Pardon my ignorance but why the “Taylor Swift of his generation”? What did Miss Swift do?

She was also dancing to the ELO song. But it being HuffPost, it was meant as a joke (and you wouldn’t believe how seriously people took it anyway).

Imma let this thread be about Macca, but Kanye tried to steal a speech again?! That happened… Wait . It was about Beyoncé again?
Edit: I guess Bongo and I came here to mention the same thing. I really hate Kanye (sorry anyone who likes him), but I didn’t see this particularly as a race thing.

Oh. Exciting stuff. An ELO song? I would have been sticking my head in the buffet to block out the noise.
I thought it was great seeing Jeff Lynne sing his own songs for a change.
I heard ‘Mr Blue Skies’ during the London Olympic ceremony and thought it held up well.
I noted Paul was out of his seat and dancing alone from the opening bars of their first song………..Paul appreciated these songs…..Are you saying Paul’s been ‘duped’ and is ‘weak and stupid’……..That’s a ‘massive insult’ to Paul.
Just joshing! ………. But some people would consider that an actual argument. (See ‘Did Yoko love John’ thread).
Ed Sheeran was the other highlight for me.
As for Paul……..? What a musical career that man has had……..And he’s still relevant. Wonderful as many of his contemporaries are……..Greats such as Stevie haven’t done much for decades. Paul’s out there Classically…….Mainstream…..Collaborating with Kanye and Rhianna………Even video games!!
As for Kanye West being racist …….? If that were true why pick an old white guitarist?

I’ve made my feelings on ELO very clear on here. I’d rather have tinnitus than listen to them.
If Paul likes them thats his fault.
Re. Kanye the ‘he/she is a racist’ card is pulled out so in such pathetic circumstances nowadays it can do more harm than good.

Exactly. I just think he’s disrespectful and has a giant ego.
And I also think he has a crush on Beyoncé.

It means if it were true and Jay-Z got wind of it, Kanye would not be long for this world.
