Hey all, I wonder does anybody knows what bass guitar Macca used for his debut album ? To me it sounds like Hofner but I found a couple of pics with Rick bass so I don’t know what to think. Anybody knows ?

Check out YouTube for some Macca Docu’s.  You should be able to see what he’s playing!

I’m thinking “Wingspan” on the top of my head, which is a DVD, so it could be blocked, but there are always ways of finding his stuff there.  Usually I would type in Paul McCartney 1970 or album, and see what ever else pops up in the suggestions.

Here’s a quick search find:   ahdn_paul_06

This site any use @LennonMacca? The archive release had a deluxe edition, that might be of some use.

I was looking around seeing if I can be any help, but alas.

I’m not a musician, play only a little guitar and am not really technical so I wouldn’t know anything unless it was documented somewhere. I think it sounds like his Hofner, too, but I could be dead wrong.

On 2:59 on documentary you can see Rickenbacker bass (so, no Honfer) and Telecaster & Casino guitars. It’s still interesting because some songs on the album definately sounds like Hofner, what d’ ya think ? 🙂

I see that too, now that I watch. He must have been using his Ric as well as the Tele and Casino, then. Again, I’m not a musician and have no technical knowledge and don’t know unless documented.
