Today marks 15 years since Linda McCartney passed away. She was such a wonderful woman, and truly a pioneer for animal rights as a whole. She has been my absolute hero since I was a kid and I just wanted to post something for her today.
“You’re up on your beautiful Appaloosa stallion. It’s a fine spring day. We’re riding through the woods. The bluebells are all out, and the sky is clear-blue…” -Paul’s last words to Linda.
Much love to Paul, I know he’s thinking of her more today.

She seemed to be a perfect match for Paul. Her integrity and independence, combined with her devotion as a lover, wife and mother — and Paul’s devotion to her — reflects very well on Paul as a man.

So true, that’s why I think he never settled down with Jane. With Linda she was exactly what he was looking for. So sad that he had to lose her, but at least they had each other for the time that they did.

I saw James McCartney in concert tonight. He was awesome. And he acknowledged this sad anniversary with a song about her and his father. It’s on his EP collection, called Wings of a Lightest Weight. It was particularly touching on a personal note, as I lost my mother at a young age, and her birthday’s coming up this month.
After the show, he signed CDs, and I told him I really appreciated his sharing that with us, and he thanked me.
Thank you for your tribute, LHL.

You’re Welcome. That is a really awesome story! So cool that you got to meet him, and that he sang for his mom. Very nice.

Absolutely…what they had was truly an inspiration and just lovely to see. It’s so tragic and heartbreaking that she passed away 15 years ago, but Paul will see her again someday.

It had slipped my mind completely.
I’m sure Paul was/is thinking about her, there must be a part of him that still loves her a lot, even though he has remarried. You don’t just forget about someone who you’ve shared so much of your life with. I really believe that things could have been a lot worse for Paul after The Beatles broke up if it weren’t for Linda.
She was an amazing woman, and it’s very sad that she’s not still here today.
P.S. Wasn’t it the 17th she died? Just that it says that this topic was created today, I think that’s GMT though.
Moving along in our God given ways, safety is sat by the fire/Sanctuary from these feverish smiles, left with a mark on the door.

Regarding Paul’s new wife, I always wonder about that situation (never having been in it myself) where obviously you had a true love, and that true love is gone, and now you commit yourself to a new person, but that new person cannot fill the shoes of the true love.

Well, his current wife is pretty obviously a major improvement on the previous one – who at best could only even fill ONE of Linda’s shoes! *rimshot*
HAHAHA YEAH I WENT THERE! Sorry if that was a bit tasteless, but I’d have to say it’s still pretty damn witty. Even if I have to say so myself.
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

Paul’s previous wife was famous for having an artificial leg (from an accident during her stint as a freelance journalist covering Yugoslavian minefields, I think).
But, considering her consistently tawdry and shabby behavior, including with Paul, I’d say she doesn’t have a leg to stand on…

Ha ha.
Why are we talking about Heather Mills on a Linda tribute page?

OK, a LadyShave is an electric razor made especially for women. And “plane” doesn’t refer to an airplane, but to the bladed carpenter’s tool used to shape wood – and also to shave wood. So, Heather can use the LadyShave on her real leg, and…you can guess the rest!
All right then, that’s enough for now, I’ve gotten this thread way off topic. No more jokes here, I’ll save ’em for the LOLs thread.

Wrongly criticised as being a bad singer Paul was right to give her a song on Wings At the Speed of Sound (Cook of The House), her harmonies and backing vocals often added to the tracks Pauln recorded, and some of the recordings she did are very good yet sadly overlooked.
Seaside Woman (a cracking track).
Oriental Nightfish (a cool piece of animation and good tune)
I Am Your Singer (a highlight from Wild Life and i believe the only released duet of Paul and Linda)
