The tickets go on sale in 5 days. I wonder how quickly they will sell out.

The event website http://home.deserttrip.com/ has a countdown feature. Right now it says 5 days, 18 hours, 18 minutes.

How do you think this will go down in history as compared to Woodstock? Will people envy you for years (generations) to come if you “were there”?

So tickets went on sale about 5 hours ago at 10 AM Pacific Standard Time
I got to the site at about 10:00 AM on the dot. Maybe 10:01 and I was greeting with a digital line. I waited in this digital line for hours. Never got a chance to buy a ticket. There are comments all over Twitter complaining about people with a similar experience and it has kind of turned into a running joke
^ that was after two hours and twenty minutes. For some reason others were posting screenshots already at the halfway point. Some people on Twitter are saying that the promotion company is scalping it’s own tickets

I think it’s rather taking away much of the uniqueness of the event by doing two identical weekends. Especially since it’s really a scalpers’ feast….

I think this event is really missing the point by a lightyear, which is sad for the real fans.

It’s f’ing infuriating. For one thing, they were expensive to begin with and I think the actual promoters marked those suckers up because they KNEW there would be demand. THEN for them to allow the brokers to get in there BEFORE they even went on sale? Also allowing people to queue up even though they were sold out? NO.
This is tragic for the fans. I’d go. I mean, I’d be there like, yesterday. Right now. But not at THOSE prices.

*sets up an office building with a stock broker-like atmosphere for the sole-purpose of winning tickets*
Anyone have a guess on how long set lists will be?

Wouldn’t surprise me one iota if Goldenvoice pulled most of the tickets and is scalping them themselves as mentioned a couple comments upthread. That would explain people queueing for such long periods in the virtual “line” and being greeted finally with “SOLD OUT”. The tickets that were available went quicker than the ones they pulled to mark up exponentially. I’m still infuriated by this whole thing and sick and tired, as a music fan and fan of live concerts, to continually be treated this way by promoters and brokers.

My wife found a way for us to go. Anniversary present – didn’t ask questions.
I suppose in some way this will be the last dance – maybe a semi-official closing of an era even though they will all continue to perform until they drop.

Nah, Roger Waters is immortal– sold his soul to the Devil, you know. Or was that Keith Richards?

Ahahaha that reminds me of the old joke that after the apocalypse, the only thing left alive will be cockroaches and Keith Richards. I love that old pirate.
