Aww, that makes me sad to think about. I hope it doesn’t mean he stops touring forever. I don’t know, I guess it’d kind of feel like the end of an era to me, and I guess it would be. No more Paul shows? Wow.a-hard-days-night-paul-10

But, I suppose he does have to stop eventually, whenever that may be…

I wonder if coronavirus will mark the end of Paul’s touring years?

I doubt it. Paul seems to genuinely love touring.

Also, this question made me sad. The thought of me never going to another Paul McCartney concert is really depressing. ):

Aw, I’ve never even been to a Paul concert before– he better not stop touring so I can see him at least once

This! a-hard-days-night-ringo-8

I hear people talk of not doing concerts and such ever again and I think that’s ridiculous, we as a race shouldn’t let this bug defeat us. With a little luck, we can get this whole damn thing worked out! a-hard-days-night-ringo-15

I was thinking (hopefully prematurely) that it will be a coincidence that both the Beatles last concert and Paul’s last concert will have occurred at a California baseball stadium. (Candlestick Park & Dodger Stadium) Note – Paul had already stopped performing Yesterday , so that final performance would be on Halloween 2018 at the Tokyo Dome.

Kind of funny, a few nights before what appears to be his last concert Paul played in my home town. I knew Fiddy was there and for a few weeks I thought she was the walrus girl that got invited on stage.

Why do you think he’s never going to tour again?

And why did he stop playing Yesterday ?paul-mccartneypaul-mccartneypaul-mccartney

@Little Piggy Dragonguy I read large concerts won’t be viable again until at least 2023. Assuming it would take another year to get all of the logistics in place, it seems unlikely Paul would still be up for it. Also it seems odd to me that he didn’t come up with a work around when he and Nancy got separated during the quarantine. Since he has all the resources available in the world, I have to assume he was paranoid (understandable) of catching the virus.

As far as not performing Yesterday , I have not been able to find a reliable source for the reason. On 10/31/18 the song appeared in its usual spot in the setlist (first song of the encore). The next night it was replaced with I Saw Her Standing There and it has not reappeared since. For me, I would be very disappointed to go to Paul’s concert and not get to see him perform Yesterday . Definitely an all time highlight of my concert going experiences when I saw him in 1990. I have discussed this with a few friends and the only reason we could think of was it has something to do with the release of the movie Yesterday . Maybe he didn’t want to appear to be performing an advertisement.

Couldn’t disagree more about the Nancy situation, @sigh butterfly. Just how was Paul, even with his money, meant to get around international borders being closed? Tens of thousands have found themselves stranded around the world, and many still are. If he was so worried about catching the virus, he wouldn’t be in lockdown with Mary and her family.

Hi Ron, all I know is there is a lot of press regarding rich people traveling to exotic locales to wait out the quarantine. I live in the flight path of an international airport in silicon valley and there has not been one day that both private and commercial jets have not flown over. I definitely have no info regarding Paul and Nancy’s situation, just speculating on his mindset.

So far as the UK goes, pretty much the only flights allowed have been government-hired repatriation and evacuation flights. And though air travel is slowly reopening, Nancy would need to go into 14 days of quarantine on arriving on our shores, while in New York she has family with her.

That makes sense and could certainly account for why I have been seeing planes the last few months. There are also a lot of military flights every day in California. Hopefully they are able to reunite soon.

The implication of sb’s original comment was that Paul could have done more to get Nancy into the UK but was worried she might unknowingly expose him to the virus so didn’t try as hard as he might, and I was pointing out that he got Mary and her family to go into lockdown with him in Rye, and that there was just as much risk of one of them unknowingly exposing him to the virus as Nancy.

I’m sure he didn’t have them all tested before they joined him. The only difference being, therefore, that they were in the UK and Nancy wasn’t when the borders closed.

In the interview with Howard Stern on April 14th, Paul said that Nancy needed to be in New York for personal family reasons that he didn’t care to go into.

It’s looking that the German and Dutch concerts will get refunds. The Italians however have been told they’re getting vouchers. As you can imagine, if you’ve spent €600 on something, to get a voucher back is…..not very desirable.

So they’ve sung a song.

F**k sake, got an email to say I’d be refunded this morning. Part of the refund involves me sending my ticket back to Germany by registered post in order to get my money back. It literally is a useless bit of colourful paper…..why do they want it back?!? I already spent stupid €30 on P&P for getting it sent here because they refused to issue email tickets- grrrrrrrr.

Assomusica, the official Italian promoters’ association, has made Paul mad because they are only offering people vouchers instead of refunds for the two cancelled Italian shows.

Go get ’em, Paul!
