What are your favorite and least favorite solo Paul videos?
Among mine (BTW, I’m making these links rather than embedding videos so the page-loading doesn’t get bogged down):
Favorite:
Band on the Run (anything animated usually gets to me. And I love it started out as a student’s project that caught Paul’s eye)
Mamunia (also animated and the main character looks like John. And nice shots of Chicago)
Ever Present Past (adorable Paul dancing!)
My Valentine (beautiful concept and cinematography)
Brown Eyed Handsome Man (just brought to my attention, and I really like it)
Least Favorite:
Press (Paul on the Tube, Paul on an escalator, Paul on the Tube, Paul on an escalator, you get my drift)
Off the Ground (awkward prolonged butt shots)
Gotta Sing Gotta Dance (from the James Paul McCartney special. So bad it might be good, but I still cringe)
I may edit this post as I think of others.

Least favorite: Queenie Eye . So many great people involved and the concept is okay, but the edited is just horrendous. It’s completely lifeless and ruins the rhythm of the song. Such a disappointment because it’s one of my favorite Paul songs of all time.
Favorite: Little Willow. So heartbreaking on several levels. I don’t know how Paul even did that video at that time.
I also really enjoy Dance Tonight and Ever Present Past.

Awkward? Still not enough “butt shots” for me.
I love how cheesy this video is! I have been looking for ages for the one where he flies! “Off The Ground “. Makes sense.

He also does a bit of flying in Your Loving Flame.

Sweet.
Hmmm trying to think of my faves, might have to think on it…
The first ones that comes to mind are “Juniors Farm” and “Helen Wheels”. The way my mind works though is they are my favourites because he looks so damn gorgeous in both of them.

Parlance and I have been comparing notes on this, and she convinced me to give “Ever Present Past” another try (initially I only got through a few seconds before x-ing out due to an instant DANCING PAUL NOOOO allergic reaction). But it’s really good, actually! Paul is adorable with his awesome elderly mOves. It even evokes ’60s Paul at times. I love his cute springy walk.
But my favorite is definitely “No Other Baby”.
Worst Paul video? “World Tonight,” hands down. I’m not even linking to it. Watch at your own peril.

The best Paul video, hands down, was the one he made for Saturday Night Live way back I don’t know when (late 70s? early 80s?) — when he played different characters and instruments simultaneously on screen and playing together (the magic of cinematography) for the debut of his single, “Coming Up “. One of the characters he plays in that video is Buddy Holly with those goofy glasses.
(The only other person used in that video was Linda, I believe.)

It’s Hank Marvin (of The Shadows who recorded with Cliff Richard) not Buddy Holly.

Genuinely had no idea this even existed.
The video is very appropriate for the film in that it’s horrendous; Paul looks uncomfortable (which may be why he’s seen so few times) and totally out of place, the disco itself looks ghastly, and I have no idea what all the random stock footage is about.
I like the single mix edit of the Playout version (probably as I got it as a kid on what I’m sure is a fake 7”) but this mix is crap – which also is appropriate for the soundtrack where you get crap versions of great Beatles and Wings songs.
