This video is a reminder that the Beatles in addition to all their other talents were … fun!
Reminds me of Harry Benson’s “pillow fight” pictures or A Hard Day’s Night .

So true. We need that spirit more than ever. Happy, creative, talented….The Beatles were the best. And Paul still has that magic. Always will.

I watched it, 23 minutes well spent. Reminded me what a cool human Paul McCartney is. Love ‘im
(Also, jealous of the Liverpool pubgoers SO much)

It was a fun watch. I enjoyed the part where he went back to his old house and talked about his dad, as well as the finale in the pub. Now I want a jukebox that makes Paul sing from behind a curtain every time I request a song, but I’d have to pay him well to keep him there all day!

I loved this video. It brought out similar emotions that I felt when I saw Paul live for the first time in December last year.
Seeing him in his old house, going to the barber shop on Penny Lane and then playing songs at a small pub to some unsuspecting locals.
I honestly could have watched more because it was so good.

To me it really brought out all the things that are good about Paul and the Beatles music in general. At turns funny and infectious and poignant. When James was tearing up Paul stepped into the space and talked about how music can really get in your soul and it was so obvious he deeply understood. It was the kind of small moment of real emotion that you rarely see Paul show. And then ending in that rollicking pub show and the sheer thrill on everyone’s faces. So many years on, with Paul at 76 and he’s still delivering in the way he likes best.

Indeed. I daydream about John and George still being around doing these types of things, but the sad reality is they’re not. We can love the past (I do) but we also have to love today and get the most out of it. It’s what John and George would want. Otherwise we’ll wake up in ten years from now realising the time we’ve wasted. There’s a great quote I saw last week that I’m taking on board: you’re alive, start living like it.

For our friends in the US, on Monday 20 August at 8pm ET/PT, CBS are broadcasting Carpool Karaoke: When Corden Met McCartney Live from Liverpool, an hour-long version of their day.
We were overwhelmed by the response to our Carpool Karaoke with Paul McCartney . We loved making it and knew we had something special. I think it resonated with people as Paul’s music speaks to every generation, young and old. After the shoot, while we sat in the edit, we had to cut so much we loved for time. Not only did Paul do a concert in that Liverpool pub, but James and he discussed so much in the car. We are so delighted CBS has given us this primetime special to make an hour-long version of this Carpool Karaoke. Now everyone can see the joy of that concert and more of their chat. Ben Winston, executive producer of The Late Late Show
You lucky people! Here’s hoping the rest of us aren’t too far behind.

Also, it struck me, as a thread about Carpool Karaoke, nobody’s actually posted it here. Seems a bit of an oversight…

He should’ve worn a fake beard like at the beginning of A Hard Day’s Night when they were reading the newspapers. Would’ve been a funny nod!

I feel exactly the same way.
I really hope they release the unused bits of film. Twenty-three minutes may be long for a Carpool Karaoke BUT IT IS NOT LONG ENOUGH FOR ME.

There was one thing I wanted to mention…
When Paul signs the Penny Lane sign, he says “No one will ever believe this.” On the contrary, Paul. Everyone who cares about you (and everyone who doesn’t) has seen that video and knows that the signature is legit.
