I’m wondering if anybody has any idea as to why Paul felt so strongly about these things such as,
“I don’t care too much for money, money Can’t Buy Me Love “, ” my love don’t buy me presents ….. Only ever has to give me love forever and forever “, ” Man buys ring, woman throws it away, same old thing happen everyday”
I mean, what was his little fixation on this subject? Does anyone know or think that he might have had a bad experience?
Possibly did he really buy something nice for a woman only to have her reject it?
I know it’s a funny for me to ask but I’ve truly been wondering this for some time.

From what I know, I think Paul was genuinely interested in settling down once he’d narrowed his preferences to the 3 or 4 special ladies of his choice , and was pretty much hinting this, as well as having something different to say in a love song context. There’s a very northern attitude here too of demanding to be the centre of the prospective bride’s world which makes it all the more sincere!
BTW, great first post and welcome to the forum!
I'm like Necko only I'm a bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin and also everyone. Or is everyone me? Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe. This has been true for 2016 & 2017 but I may have to get more specific in the future.

He probably had a bad experience sometime and was so butt-hurt about it he left little digs about it in a bunch of his songs. Or maybe he just thought it seemed like a good idea for a song so he threw it in a couple of them just because he knew he could make a song out of the idea. I don’t think all their songs were auto-biographical so maybe you’re just reading into things too much.
