A couple of alternate versions of Medicine Jar, one of the very best non-Macca Wings tracks and a real highlight on Venus And Mars .

mmm,

I feel about “So Bad” and “With A Little Luck” the same way you do about “Hold Me Tight .” (I think rarely was a song so aptly named as “So Bad” except for perhaps “It’s All Too Much ” coming at the end of the too-long Yellow Submarine .)

I do like “Medicine Jar” but prefer the album version (with its harmonies) than this alternate.

Beatles Rarity focused on the “Return to Pepperland (20 Years Later)” version of “Beautiful Night,” which I love even more than the released version. I couldn’t find any info on why the album was never released. Anyone know?

I didn’t want to make a whole topic just for this question, and I didn’t see anything on unreleased Paul recordings, hence the more general title.

Note by Ahhh Girl 21 August 2014: I rolled a thread titled “Anyone heard this song before?” into this thread. Posts 3-6 were the entirety of that thread.

In searching around for something else, I came across this merge to do (see my note). I don’t think I can merge https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…..ab-tracks/ into here, but I thought a cross-link might be helpful.

EDIT: Actually, I may go ahead and combine the threads. Let me work on it.

The entire Return to Pepperland album is interesting, although for all the good tracks on it, there’s a LOT of crap which makes you realize Paul was smart for not releasing it!

I think this belongs here:

Diana Krall’s next album will have a song by Paul, “If I Take You Home Tonight,” left over from the Kisses On The Bottom  sessions.

Yes, since it is a collab track, I think it belongs here too.

Paul will be part of a group of celebrities recording a Christmas single for charity:

Paul McCartney is to record a Christmas charity single with Jennifer Hudson.

The ex-Beatle and the Oscar-winning singer will join a host of celebrities for a version of A Great Big World’s ‘Say Something ‘, according to The Sun.

The track will be released in support of Samuel L. Jackson’s cancer charity One For The Boys . Other celebrities featured include Game Of Thrones actress Maisie Williams and model Daisy Lowe, while Jackson will also provide vocals.

The recording session at Abbey Road Studios was reportedly hosted by BBC Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw earlier this week.

‘Say Something ‘ will challenge The X Factor 2014 champion for Christmas number one.

Finally found it. I love this alternate take of ‘Love Awake’ – starts out with Paul alone on his guitar before the band come in a bit at a time.

Paul created a character for Destiny:

In ‘Destiny’ the player becomes a Guardian of the last city on Earth, able to wield incredible powers. The Guardians explore the ancient ruins of the solar system, from the red dunes of Mars to the jungles of Venus, defeating Earth’s enemies along the way.

When a player starts the game, the first thing they must do is create their own Guardian, this means that each player in Destiny is completely unique.

Today, Paul has revealed his own Guardian that he has created for the game.
