We can’t be the only ones underwhelmed by this. I think releasing the previews worked against them. Either that, or they keep putting them out hoping one of them sticks.

Another cover that if it came on the radio i could happily let it pass but its not something to seek out or get excited about. Very little to make it stand out from the thousands of ‘Let It Be ‘ versions out there.

Examiner preview of the album. Very different feelings to a lot of the tracks than many on here have expressed.

This is the only one I can confidently say I liked, the other’s were all crap. Helter Skelter was okay and I can’t really judge the Heart one, but mostly lots and lots of crap.

In case you haven’t heard, a collection of Paul covers by a seriously star – studded cast of performers has been released online. Paul’s band plays behind whoever is singing the songs, which results in some of the music sounding very similar to the originals (some are beatles songs, some solo Paul and some from the Wings years. There’s some good stuff on it but none that I’ve heard so far come close to the originals. James McCartney sings on Hello Goodbye . it’s available in several places in its entirety, at consequenceofsound.net (and other places I think). Sorry the link is incomplete I found this on Facebook on my laptop but can’t find it on the phone to cut n paste and there’s a bad cookie preventing me from logging into beatlesbible.com from laptop.

@Matt Busby, the collection you are referring to is ‘The Art of McCartney’ and so i’ve moved your post to the project specific thread where you will find links to many of the tracks posted throughout.

Sky Arts 1 is currently screening the documentary ‘The Art Of McCartney’. Only just discovered its on but its repeated at 4:30am this Monday morning (17th November 2014) and should be on Sky’s catch-up service as well as the subject of numerous repeats.
Sky’s synopsis reads:
On Monday, November 17, an album titled ‘The Art of McCartney’ will go on general release.
It’s an all-star tribute record featuring an extraordinary array of talent. Bob Dylan, Brian Wilson, Smokey Robinson, The Cure, Billy Joel, Corinne Bailey Rae and many more perform Sir Paul’s songs covering the full span of his career from The Beatles through to Wings and his solo work.
In total 34 tracks have been recorded (although there are a further eight available if you’re prepared to shell out for the limited edition vinyl box set and deluxe box set).
On Sunday night Sky Arts will broadcast a UK premiere that will take us behind the scenes at the making of this eagerly awaited album.
Artists and producers reveal the stories behind which tracks they recorded.
And in this special preview clip we discover how Dylan became involved and that the song he chose would have been the A-side of A Hard Day’s Night if The Beatles had got their way…

I haven’t even heard one song yet that would make me waste my money on this album, let alone even download a song.
Why settle for second best, when we have the Original Macca doing what he does best!
That’s my opinion. This whole thing doesn’t really interest me. It’s a nice idea, but I don’t thinkctheynexecuted it well.
