These two are the ones that get the best reviews, so, I ask this. Which is better? I say Imagine , just because it truly was his peak. It has 2 of his best songs, but doesnt have the terrible ender *cough*My Mummy’s Dead *cough* that POB has. How about you?

Definitely Plastic Ono Band. As much as I know I might get blasted for this, I really don't like the song Imagine , and that is what the whole album is built around. I don't know why I don't like it…maybe overexposure and the fact that to most casual fans, it's the only thing they identify John Lennon with. I hate that because he was so much more than just that one song. POB is a tough album to listen to, though. I have to be in the right mood. I love Jealous Guy and How? from Imagine , and I like to play I Don't Want to Be a Soldier Mama on Rock Band. (And even though I hate the song, How Do You Sleep is a lot of fun to play.) But I'd still have to say POB.

Imagine is more forgettable I suppose. Jealous Guy I think is his most “consumable” song or whatever you want to call it. It’s his best song that can be enjoyed by everyone is what I mean. But I wouldn’t call it or Imagine better than Mother or Working Class Hero or God . Imagine is a nice song but I agree that it’s overplayed. Oh My Love is for sure one of my favorites as is Oh Yoko, but then again Look At Me and Isolation are two of my favorites. So I think Imagine was his best effort in terms of him trying to sell an album to a mass audience, but I certainly wouldn’t take it over POB. It’s who he was, he throws his heart and soul on the table and Imagine is similar but has “sugar on top.”

Plastic Ono Band. It's a masterpiece, although I can see why it's not to everyone's taste.
I'm wary of getting into track-by-track comparisons, because I think albums should be judged on the whole rather than saying “I don't like song x, and song y is better than song a”. However, there are a couple on Imagine I'm not crazy about – Crippled Inside and Oh Yoko! for their folksy hoe-down feel, and I Don't Want To Be A Soldier goes on a bit. That said, Mother and Well Well Well aren't really on the top of my Lennon list either.
If I was a more casual Lennon fan I'd definitely say Imagine . It's far more accessible, no screaming or songs about his mother, with proper tunes you can whistle and everything. But really, people should have both.
(Kedame – I had no idea all of Imagine was DLC on Rock Band. Do you need RB3 to buy it? I only have the Beatles game.)

I like both, Imagine 's my favourite though. Working Class Hero is my favourite Lennon track, and I also really like Mother , God , Hold On , Well Well Well and Look At Me . There's a big lull in the middle for me, though. I've always found tracks like Love, Isolation and Remember to be a bit… empty. As mentioned, I also don't really like My Mummy's Dead.
Contrastingly, I like every song on Imagine bar I Don't Wanna Be A Soldier, which I just delete from my playlists. Imagine and Mind Games have the emotion/rocker combinations that I think work really well. Imagine has songs like It's So Hard that wouldn't be out of place on Plastic Ono Band (bar the saxophone, maybe), and the gentler songs like Oh My Love and How?. I also really like Oh Yoko!, because of how upbeat it is.

I'm pretty much in line with The Walrus on this one. I like both, but put me down for Imagine .
I find it ineresting how people hear songs differently. Joe mentioned, “I'm not crazy about Crippled Inside and Oh Yoko! for their folksy hoe-down feel”. TW and I like Oh Yoko! “because of how upbeat it is” (and I like Crippled Inside for the same reason).
Things like this make for great discussions. I look forward to seeing more opinions on these 2 great albums.
