Hi @StrawberryFieldsForever! I could listen to this entire interview. Only I am Brazilian and I know a little English. Thanks for telling me where I find the interview, I’ll see if I find a transcript of it, if you think, I confirm. Thank you!

From Wikipedia: Spector once showed up dressed in a surgeon’s outfit and shot a gun in the ceiling of the studio, hurting Lennon’s ears.
From mental_floss.com: In 1973, Lennon hired Spector to helm a record of rock ‘n’ roll cover songs. Spector routinely arrived late to the studio, high on amyl nitrate, wearing elaborate costumes (one night a surgeon, the next a karate expert) with an ever-present pistol tucked in a hip holster. One night, for a prank, Spector fired the gun in the control room, inches from the former Beatle’s ear. An enraged Lennon yelled, “Phil, if you’re going to kill me, kill me. But don’t f**k with my ears. I need ‘em.” Another time, Spector pulled his gun and chased Lennon through the hallways of the studio, screaming threats. When Spector later disappeared with the master tapes, Lennon’s label Capitol Records had to buy them back for $90,000. The Rock ‘n’ Roll album, which Lennon called “jinxed,” finally came out in 1975. Lennon later said of Spector, “I’m fond of his work a lot. His personality I’m not crazy about.”
I found those by doing this google search. Hope that helps.

Wow! I thought he just pointed the gun! John really was very brave! Was it that he felt when he was shot by Chapman? I do not think gave him time to think. Thanks, you helped me a lot!

I am very glad to have helped you @Rita Eleanor .
Your question regarding what went through John’s mind when he was shot made me gasp. I never thought about that before. Previously, I only thought about how his being shot affected others – Yoko, Cyn, John’s family, his other fans and me. That is some heavy stuff to consider. Wow.

@Zig,
This is really a very delicate matter for any fan of The Beatles who lives what he hears. I guess I should think so much in his death that I’ve looked at various angles … that was the reason for me wanting to know if he had any interview in which John spoke when Phil almost hit. I wanted to at least understand what John thought in those last seconds. Something that nobody will find out. And have at least one comfort: they say that when the police saw his condition, asked him “do you know who is John Lennon ?” and John nodded his head. It’s like he said yes to the world, peace, love, his son, Yoko, your friends … thanks!

In the context of the above posts: I was watching a few clips of How I Won The War (haven’t watched the entire movie) and this one video ends on the dialogue which you can find in this video at about 0:49. It was very chilling to hear him say this as that video was a collection of John’s scenes in the movie and the video ended on this dialogue following John’s quips.
This leads me to wonder as to why did John think that he had it coming? He had an inkling that he’d be shot but that I assume is because of what he said and did, his stance on various issues but why did he think he’d have a horrifying end? I’m sorry if this has been answered previously.

Hi! I also think it’s because of their controversial. He was not afraid to tell the truth, even though it was dangerous. People like this are rare. And it was not just against the people, he called attention to them. “Make love and not war” literally made ??love and he also said: “I and the president are all naked equal.” I mean, he put the people of high class and equlibrava with the lower class, he returned his MBA and coloocou the letter “with love John!” Who does that? And the most beautiful of all is that he knew the consequences it caused, and continued doing because I thought I could do something to the world. And it really did.
Sorry the text, I get excited when I talk about it!

Oh, what a wonderful question, @Starr Shine?!
They shared a class at the Art College, Lettering, and she was an object of fun (because she was from the posh part of Liverpool), and they started to build a weird relationship there. John’s friend, Jeff Mohomed, used to joke to Cynthia that John fancied her. Quite outrageous as she made no secret of the fact she was engaged.
She was a right Hoylake runt, dead snobby. We used to poke fun at her and mock her, me and Jeff Mohomed. “Quiet please,” we’d shout, “no dirty jokes. It’s Cynthia.”
John would sit behind her in Lettering class (Thursday) and constantly borrow equipment from her that she had but he didn’t, and then not return it. A strange relationship started to build.
Then there was a lesson where a girl named Helen Anderson reached over and stroked John’s hair. Cynthia was furious, and soon realised she was jealous.
Not long after that, they were at a party or a dance, and John asked her to dance. Cynthia blurted, “I’m engaged!” John said, “I didn’t ask you to marry me!”
They danced. Very soon she wasn’t engaged, and the rest – as they say – is history!

Hello friends! You know tell me if I find the book “John Lennon Call Me Normal” in pdf? Do not have the version in Portuguese, but I’m dying to read it!
Hugs.

As it looks slightly out of place Rita’s above mention of the previous answer i had given refers to here. I moved her post into this thread considering its related to solely John.

Well, i thought if he was fat he could stay alive for a little more time but that damn bullet in aorta
P.S. And also, he was shot with hollow point bullets, which have the sole intention of ripping apart its victim’s insides… so he really stood no chance.
