I think Maxwell’s Silver Hammer was also considered granny music.

What?!?!?!? What granny (other than me, obviously) would want to listen to a song about someone (presumably a kid, considering he goes to school) whacking people on the head with a hammer to kill them?

“Granny s**t music” was a description applied to just three songs during John’s 1970 Rolling Stone interview, @TheWalrusWasBrian — Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da , Maxwell’s Silver Hammer and Teddy Boy . If you look at them, they are all story songs that John felt they’d spent too long working on in the studio because of Paul’s perfectionism.
Many similar-styled songs are often suggested as being songs that John considered “Granny s**t” — possibly correctly — but John only definitely applied it to just those three songs.

the thing about granny music is it moreso just became John’s catch all insult when he didn’t like a Paul song
at this point it’s my catch all insult period.

There are quite a few places I’ve heard mentioned (mostly bars), but this is the only place for which I have first person confirmation. The place was called Cafe La Fortuna and was located at 69 West 71st St. I found this image on Pinterest, but I have no way to verify if it’s actually the place (closed now).
The Nobody Told Me video has a scene where John and Yoko are hanging out with Andy Warhol in a place named The Chelsea Buh, but I can’t find any information about it.

Thanks Sigh.
I read about his NY optometrist , don’t know if he’s still there (probably not), and , of course, he enjoyed Central Park.
I think there was a kind of restaurant there where he liked to go ?

Welcome @rune79
I thought the color scheme was reminiscent of a Warhol piece, but can’t locate anything that matches. Here are some other pics from that day.
This zoomed edit appears to show some letters and perhaps a face with sunglasses? The picture was taken in 1980 by a photographer named Bob Gruen. Prints are for sale on his website. The listing for the picture you posted reads “John Lennon wearing Rockerciser shirt at The Hit Factory, NYC. Image #: C-08 © Bob Gruen Item 72 of 91″. That’s all I got for now.

I would have loved John to have worn a Batman themed shirt. Don’t think this one is, though.

There’s a chance it could have been custom made for John, as I searched the entire internet looking for that shirt. All I’m getting is “Mysterious John Lennon shirt” stuff.
