Here a bit of him talking about the UFO thing he saw once:
If I ever need proof of the whole idea that smart people can believe stupid things, here it is.
I don’t know… John may have been guilty of exaggerating the truth at times but I can’t see him making up something like this outta thin air… I mean, it’s not like he was ever at a loss for things to talk about… if you pay attention to what he’s saying, he’s not suggesting that there were “little green men” involved here… take the UFO definition at face value, emphasis on the “unidentified”… I’ve always believed that John saw a surveillance device that day… it makes the most sense from his account… he’d mentioned on multiple occasions that he’d felt as though someone was following/watching him… does what he describe not sound like modern day “toy” drones? something that would’ve seemed like science-fiction back then but was very likely available to the powers that be, so was internet technology in the 70’s by the way… labeling his account as “stupid” is pretty shortsighted, in my opinion…:-)

Indeed. Anyone who makes these comments are going to be doubted, and John knew that. If he saw something he saw something. He’s wasn’t making judgements about what it all meant, he was just recounting his own experience. I’ve seen things that make me think twice in my life as well.

I love that video. Everyone who met John when he did that spoke about how friendly he was too.

Came across this video today. Anybody knows what are they recording at the beginning?
It’s during the recording of Oh My Love

Thx Richard, i meant between the 0,35″ and 2,45″ mark. John and Yoko are with a bunch of people, Mal Evans among them, at EMI studio wearing fake noses and stuff and all of them recording around a microphone. At first i thought they were recording stuff for the “what a shame mary jane…” track but i’m not sure about that…

One of my favourite performances, love his words at the start about the tambourine.
“We go back in the past just once” is such an awesome line. Stuff like that gave John his edge, and made such moments when he resisted the past all the more special.
I like this YT comment too: “Chewing gum while playing guitar with one hand while singing 20% wrong lyrics. John Lennon legitimately was the coolest motherf***er to ever live.”

“We go back in the past just once” could be a heavy line, but I think here he just meant it’s the only tune in the set that isn’t current but harks back to his Other Career.
As for John getting lyrics wrong — I suspect he was just throwing in stuff for the fun of it.
