First of all, hi, welcome, glad you could join us etc.
That’s a tricky question, as I probably think about him every day and have spent half my life listening to his music. Right now, though, the first thing I thought of was the cover photo of Double Fantasy .

Thankyou for my welcome Joe 🙂
you say you listen to his songs regulary, do some of the songs make you feel emotional, in some way do you think that they become more emotional after his death?… in my opinion Lennon was a extremly dedicated song writer and singer he was and still is an inspiration to many people… everyone of his songs gave some sort of emotional understanding.

The first time I heard Imagine and I thought it was the most amazing thing ever. I was really little too, I barely remember.

John just has an appeal to him that I haven't really found in many other “celebrities” or whatever you want to call famous people. Even looking at Nigel's avatar, I just can't help but smile. So when I think of John, I think of inspiration and hope for humanity. We sure could use some hope these days, so it's nice to be able to use John's words and life to give people some peace and love.

Yay! When I look at my avatar I sometimes look for a long time, just because I am smiling.

when i mention John Lennons name what are the first memories that you think of in your own personal life?
My earliest memories of him are when he and Yoko co-hosted “The Mike Douglas Show”. It was 39 years ago this month.
I had just turned 8 years old a few months earlier and can remember that this is when it really hit me that the Beatles had broken up. I knew they had disbanded a couple of years earlier but seeing John on TV without the other 3 really drove that point home like a nail through the head.
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

I think of the inner photos from the “White Album ” CD, I was so excited riding the bus back home.

I'd like to say "thank you" on behalf of the group and ourselves and I hope we passed the audition.

I just saw this thread for the first time, and the first thing I thought of was his performance in A Hard Days Night (the film – I watched it the other day, maybe that’s why). He was a natural in front of the camera. As for the first time I ever saw him, that would be when I had to do a school project on the Beatles. I made a collage of different images, pics cut from magazines etc (nowadays you’d just go on Google images and get them I suppose lol)
