Maybe he's saying the way you're acting now is atrocious, but there's still hope for you yet, and in general, you're not all that bad. (Nowhere near as catchy as the lines above!) 🙂

Offline People are contradictions inherently. People are not rationale beings. We are emotional beings, who do things at times that seem to, or does, contradict earlier actions/statements. But I don’t think either of the examples above are contradictory. John didn’t care for Julian because he was a mistake – made because of whiskey on a Saturday night, according to the Playboy Interview. I’m not saying that’s right, but if that’s how he viewed his eldest son, his behaviour makes sense.
