Stumbled upon a random interview from 1975. Not sure if there was a post on it already. Felt like Johns section needed another topic anyway. I don’t think it got published until the late 80’s. I thought it was one of the more interesting articles with him. The interviewer does some good digging. He talks about his song writing process. Says in this he usually does lyrics first and music second and envied Eltion John and Bernie Taupins working relationship. Thought it was kind of strange because from most of his demos it seems like he trying to come up with words for the musical melody but sure he did both ways. Also mentions and interesting storying about carving his name into a church in Hamburg which I had never heard.
