i don’t want to derail the imagine thread any more so I’m just going to add something about ringo and those pizza hut commercials and how he eventually solved the problem by becoming the official pizza guy for all the former beatles.

I don’t want to sound rude or grumpy or whatever but if you are going to derail a thread why don’t you just keep the conversation in the “imposible to derail…” thread with a link pointing to the thread you are about to derail instead of just saying “i don’t want to derail this thread but…” and going on derailing for 6 posts?…it’s kinda annoying …
Besides all this… what a beautiful song this is.

Nicky Hopkins also played the break in Revolution ‘B’ side version.
It got him the Imagine gig……His piano is wonderful here. Died so young from crone’s complications.

I wish this had been released as Child Of Nature with the Beatles. Would have gone well on The White Album with the likes of Dear Prudence and Blackbird IMO. I also like it as Jealous Guy , though, so I wouldn’t complain with both.
I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

Never heard Child Of Nature but it would be sad if Jealous Guy weren’t on Imagine :/

You should, it’s really great. But I agree, Jealous Guy is so good with the rest of Imagine .

I agree with Walry, @50yearslate, beautiful song you should hunt out and, should you be able to find it, give a listen…

Right, I’ll let you know if I ever find it.
Good song, but I prefer Jealous Guy .
Also, if this was on the White Album we wouldn’t have Mother Nature’s Son and that would be a disaster!

I don’t dislike Child Of Nature , but I’m glad John waited and used the Jealous Guy lyrics. Some of his most honest and powerful.

It’s a mark of his talent that he could use the same melody and come up with two sets of lyrics, both of which are profound and emotional and evoke very different meanings.

There is a really cool fan creation out there where the vocal from ‘Child Of Nature ‘ has been matched seamlessly to the commercially released backing track. Quite something.
