I bought this recently at a local store for much less than it is valued on this website (it’s the 1977 reissue):

The vinyl looks like it was never played.
It’s really cool. Has anyone seen it? It comes with a wedding certificate, a photo strip, a piece of cake, newspaper clippings, a postcard, artwork, a lyric sheet, and wedding photos.

I have never actually seen it in person, but I have the John Lennon Box of Vision and all of that was reproduced in the book. It is pretty cool, I like all the newspaper clippings in it, that’s probably my favorite.

If you have most of his albums on vinyl, then I don’t think it’s as worth it, because my favorite part is the book that reproduces all his album sleeves in vinyl size.
Have you listened to The Wedding Album yet? Is it any good?

I don’t have many on vinyl, but I’m starting a collection. I’m planning to get my hands on a first pressing of Meet The Beatles later this month.
I’ve heard all the John stuff. The Wedding Album is kind of a joke. It’s not music. And when I say it’s not music, I mean that literally. I kind of like it, though. I won’t give away what’s on it because I don’t want to ruin it for you, but don’t waste your money if you know what I mean.

Hi all – just wondering if anyone has the Japanese CD import in the small white box? If so, what does it contain?
I’m wondering if it is mini versions of everything the LP has, or is anything missing? I am particularly keen to see if it has the booklet of press clippings, and (if so) are they readable? Many thanks if you can let me know – my Google skills on this sort of thing are abysmal.

And here you go:

It comes with everything that was originally in the box, just smaller. If you can read stuff in CD booklets, you’ll be able to read the press clippings.

Thanks folks – just picked it up based on that info – quite a nice collectable even if the album will most likely drive me bats
Well, even more bats …..

So, I now have what looks like chocolate cake in the bag. I have also placed the CD in its nice protective sleeve into the reproduction LP sleeve into the reproduction LP cover on the shelf next to the box so it is easier to get to if I need to scare away any unwanted visitors.
Next question for the great Googlers here – does anyone have a translation of the Japanese liner notes? The interview transcripts and lyrics (including the ones to the bonus tracks) are all in English, which is nice, but it looks like about a page of info on the album is in Japanese only.
The cost locally was ok as well, it was A$35 which is about right given the cost in Yen on the obi.
I must say I am loving the presentation of this box – given my comments in another thread on CD packaging this one is more like it – I have been so disappointed to see “The Concert for Bangladesh” CDs with their cut down booklets compared to the old LP boxed edition.

Secretly Canadian are reissuing Wedding Album as a reproduction of the vinyl box set, and on CD. Vinyl is white.

In the UK (not sure about elsewhere) there’s a limited-to-300-copies version on clear vinyl.

can’t recall if this is from the ‘Wedding Album ‘ (have never been able to sit through it), but was recorded around the same time and shows some nice footage:
the ‘Anthology 3 ‘ acapella mix is still my favourite but the acoustic version here is very charming… Yoko continues to inspire John to do some of his best work here…:-)

Quick heads-up that amazon.com is currently listing the vinyl box set for $15.98, the same price as the CD. It’s probably a pricing mistake but they often honour them. If you were thinking of ordering this it’s probably worth doing now to lock in the lower price.
Edit: back up to $36 now.
