The Daily Beatle has an interesting article on the Ultimate Collection that gives “an overview of what’s new, what’s partially new, what’s improved and what isn’t quite as good as before.”

Started listening to this this morning via a free Amazon music trial and it’s great listening (have got to the ‘Love’ elements mix so a long way to go) – and then the box came in the post and I’ve been reading thru the notes and it really hit home the amount of material contained. It’s f*****g massive.
Highlight so far, tho it’s going to take a long time to digest the wealth of what we get, is the elements mix of ‘I Found Out ‘ which is brilliant in it’s craziness.
I’m going to buy an external Blu-Ray player so to rip the Blu-ray discs for everything they contain.
I cannot wait to see the ‘All Things Must Pass ‘ set.
And if Paul or his team read this post – this is how to release a box set. Nobody wants pieces of paper and other kinds of crap, we want the music and lots of it.

They have 120 tracks, though only the first 50 show on that playlist.

That’s good enough for a Sunday listen. I usually thought they gutted these to 25-30 songs for streaming but 120 is pretty great. Of course what I meant by “I don’t have” is “I don’t own” because I must own this collection.

That’s what i miss very much in all the Beatles deluxe editions. See the evolution in detail (as much as possible), and the studio chatter in between takes. That’s what i’d love to see in the new Let it be (or Get Back or however it’s named) film edition but i’m afraid they are gonna fail again.

Oh my God these Yoko live sessions are totally worth the price of admission. They’re basically the only reason I bought the box. I skipped straight to them.

It is damn annoying that they’re the only things missing on Spotify. All the other Blu-Ray tracks present and correct, just not the Yoko jams.

Probably a response to all of the criticism she gets whenever she puts anything out there. The other day I saw someone commenting to Sirius FM that they were angry because they heard Yoko being played on the station.

What a fantastic album. Isolation is one track that really stands out to me, “just a boy and a little girl, trying to change the whole wide world”

kelicopter, Richard, Timothy, RubeI've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.
