Lennon handed over the estate to Ringo Starr in 1973 to settle a debt with his former band mate.

Mr Badman said Starr's builders discovered many of John's belongings that he had left behind.

“There were a lot of his clothes, notes and lots of personal belongings,” he said. “Apparently Ringo told the builders to put them in the ground and burn them.”

Wow, I only just stumbled upon this! Interesting article, made even more so by the fact I only live down the road from there!

You all will have read that Dave Dee is no longer with us. But Mickey and Titch and I would like to carry on the good work that's always gone down in number two.

Too cool, Doc.

If I lived down the road from Tittenhurst, I’d have a shovel in one hand (for digging up charred keepsakes) and a few pounds of dog tranquilizer laden beef in the other.

I think I may have mentioned this in another thread, but from the outside it's just a bunch of trees and a massive gate. But I may try and sneak in this summer and see if I could get a few pics.

Though the place belongs to Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan now, who I can imagine you wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of.

I had to laugh when I saw your response. Before actually reading it, I saw the picture and went, hmmmmmmmmmm.

Good luck with the espionage thing this summer. Should we start up a collection now for your bail? I'll grab the hat off that statue in the picture and start passing it around the Forum.

Oh, did I mention that forum members get 60% of my fee for my defence work? It seems like a fitting time.

Just because you Brits are getting screwed, doesn't mean we should bail you out!! Ask Germany instead

A) We are not screwed. We like austerity measures, and do them for fun.

B) If we are screwed, it is the fault of Americans causing a global credit crisis due to their massive numbers of sub-prime mortgages, so it's only fair to ask you to bail us out rather than keep spending like there is no tomorrow. And yeah, I'm bunching in you Canadians, because you're just the Narnia to America's Archenland… sorry Mith, that makes you the Calormen in this analogy, but the Narnia/Archenland comparison works so I'm sticking with it, even if it is unfair on Mexico.

C) Regardless of whether we are screwed, you already volunteered to bail out Dr Robert. I'm best placed to give him the bail money, and as such I am best placed to run off with it.

I told her I didn’t

A.) Do you also protest for fun as well? Is that your version of a night on the town?

B.) Why are you dragging us into the American debt issue? We are weathering the debt crisis like no other.

C.) If I'm his defence lawyer, I should get the money (and deduct my fee.)

A) Not as much as the French, but to a degree. Some of us protest in libraries ffs, that's my idea of a holiday!

B) Archenland always dragged Narnia into its wars.

C) No, for several reasons. Firstly, it is bail money, not for legal fees. Secondly, you're too busy being a songwriting authoring politician to be a defence lawyer. Thirdly, you are too young to fly alone. Fourthly, you are a teenage boy, not a lawyer. Sprechen sie Deutsch? playnext=1&list=PLFD36C041E6D82EFF

That is what Doctor Robert 's trial would be like with you defending him. You probably know less about English and Welsh law than he does. Regardless, trepassing is a civil offence again iirc, so he wouldn't need bail.

Oh silly me, thinking it was because we had sound fiscal policy, a strong vision, and banks who weren’t scumbags. Guess I was wrong.
