Lots of deceased celebrities have official twitter accounts run by their Estates, Fiddy, including John.
It’s a way of keeping their memory alive and publicising new releases or events involving them.

Yes, I noticed that quite a while back, John gave his son the Irish version of his name*. Julian’s first name is John as well, I believe (John Charles Julian).
*Seán is the proper Irish form, as any good ASJ fan knows, ‘sean’ means ‘old’.
