Last month, on the Sirius XM Billy Joel channel, Billy Joel was talking about how for a while he lived near John Lennon but never stopped by (which would’ve been really easy to do when he was on his boat) out of respect for his privacy. Then after John died, someone apparently told Billy that John had wanted to meet him but didn’t want to bother him, so neither crossed paths.

So sad that they never met, but an incredible illustration of how they probably would’ve liked to be treated by others. And so humble that John thought that he would be a bother if he tried to say “hi” to Billy, when one could imagine it would’ve been a highlight of his life.

Interesting stuff. That’s something I’ve learned in recent times. Privacy is good in the sense you can go home and do what you like, feeling free. But there comes a point where privacy can become a negative. You need to put yourself out there at times otherwise life doesn’t progress and you stay where you are.

It depends. If you are working on yourself spiritually, you need periodic phases for introspection before you can “put yourself out there” in a new and better way. That’s what John just finished doing when he died.

^^^ I love that clip! I especially love John here, being his usual hilarious and fab self! Tho they all look spectacular– great outfits (John’s is the best but still– can’t beat that suit and shirt combo or those shades) and definitely a great period for all their haircuts. They all look so suave and handsome heart

John was so intelligent he could see past the idiot journalists and not be able to rise as he knew they were looking for him to do and instead made them look incredibly foolish. Yet he took no s**t. I love this interview.

His humour was very distinct. And it’s rubbed off on me. Thanks John.

There are 3 types of legends in this video. John, chuck and the guy who turned off Yoko’s microphone

for what it is worth, I think that Yoko hit “the cat being electrocuted note” perfectly
