Its on an internet forum that a guy called Steve who knows Bill who is married to Sylvia who has a written note that she says was written by a guy who once had a brief glimpse at a blurry photo of a photocopy of one of John’s dairy entries which was a handwritten copy by a friend of Fred Seaman’s who had to guess at some of the words saw it. So a very legitimate and trustworthy source.

Absolutely…anything is possible in my little mind….but for the record…the only thing that I can prove is that Sgt Pilcher didn’t have any jurisdiction on a Greek Isle! I think John Lennon would get a kick out of our little fantasies, don’t you?

Yep. He’d even throw something into the mix to get us wondering even more.

You and me both, brother. This thread has lost the plot, I’m afriad…
The plot is still there but it’s very dark, the mist and rain has descended and it’s difficult finding it again. Maybe its just over here, damn there’s a brick wall, it was around here somewhere, i’d swear by it. Where the heck has it gone!

Oh, that was a fun read.
I hope you guys don’t mind, but I’ll try to give my answer to the original question. Afterwards, I’ll be more than happy to discuss how they all loved Paul and stuff.
I don’t believe Yoko loved John in a very special way. The way I see it, her way (if there ever was one), was not one of a person who was in love. Let me elaborate with what may seem more like an essay than a post for a forum.
John felt the lack of love in his life from an early age, once his parents left him. That is a tragic thing for a kid. Even though his aunt and uncle loved him, it was never quite enough. But then came along the best thing for John – Cynthia. Yes, we all know she loved every cell of him. She was exactly what he always wanted, someone who would love, support and respect him unconditionally. She was also his Brigitte Bardot dream girl. I personally believe that John loved her, as she was ideal, and he tried to make what he had with her to be enough for them both. But sadly, she wasn’t what he needed, and despite of everything, what we need always comes first to what we want.
Yoko was exactly what John needed. Perhaps if aunt Mimi wasn’t as strict, Cynthia would have been all John needed, but with things being as they were, John didn’t need to be simply loved and allowed anything anymore, but he needed someone to guide him. Yoko was not much of a fan-girl, but she became what any John fan-girl would want to be – his wife. But how would a fan-girl imagine to accomplish such a thing? Whichever fantasy can be taken as a reply, they would all be different, but connected with one thing – the imagination of it being the random falling in love, happily ever after fairy tale. Yoko was smart enough to look beyond those fantasies, and she manipulated her way to the first Beatle she could come across. Didn’t Paul claim that she came to meet him first? Maybe she thought he’d be easier to manipulate, or maybe she just wanted the cute one. However, when that plan failed, she moved on to John who at first rejected her, but this time she didn’t give up. Those who have read Cynthia’s “John” book, and watched or read the rare interviews where John admits himself, will know that it didn’t take long for Yoko to become John’s #1 stalker. She sent him letters, often dropped by their house (miles away from the city) to use the telephone, and then come back because she forgot something. Eventually, she succeeded, becoming the person John ‘depended’ on (with the help from heroin, too). John was an addict by nature, from what I realized, and it varied of what from time to time. Stuart? Cynthia? Sex, even? He always needed someone to go back to for something, and Yoko took that to advantage. He got easily addicted to whatever seemed interesting enough, and Yoko was something he hadn’t seen before. Back then, women were usually what men wanted them to be in a relationship, and Yoko was the opposite. I wonder if part of the reason John liked her so much is because everyone else hated her. He did, after all, have that rebellious personality type and almost always did exactly what everyone else didn’t want him to do. Combine that with the fact that she almost literally made fun of their profession in her own scream-music, something I can see fitting in with John’s twisted humor. She was weird, and he loved weird. So to get to my point, I don’t believe he love her, but more the idea of her.
Yoko forced her way into John’s life.
Once she was in it, she didn’t wait to use him and his fame. That pretty much sums up her love.
With that being the way I understood their story, I don’t believe their ‘love’ fairy tale is genuine. Whatever special connection they might have had, it was extremely exaggerated in the public. What I also find very funny, is that John was very obviously fooling himself with it: after years of referring to Brigitte Bardot as his dream girl, after he met Yoko, he made sure to change his story to, and I quote “I’d always had a fantasy about a woman who would be a beautiful, intelligent, dark-haired, high-cheekboned, free-spirited artist. My soul mate. Someone that I had already known, but somehow had lost.” According to him, this was before his Brigitte Bardot phase. It’s funny how stories can change.

I definitely think you’re right about some of the things you say. I don’t feel like I know enough about them and their relationship to really say for sure if it was geniune or not. Nobody but them and very few others actually do.
I wonder if part of the reason John liked her so much is because everyone else hated her.
This is something I’ve always wondered, too. Do rebelious teens ever grow up, or do they just turn into rebellious adults? I think in most cases, and in many ways in John’s case, it’s the latter. I think his relationship with Yoko had a lot of, say, ”outside influences” – one of them being that he knew it would create a certain amount of outrage and/or shock.
Moving along in our God given ways, safety is sat by the fire/Sanctuary from these feverish smiles, left with a mark on the door.

She turns up at Paul’s house…….Whether he shagged her or not that night and has been silenced……..she knew enough about the Beatles not to be believed when she claims she didn’t know anything about the Beatles or who John was when they met……….
She connived and manipulated her way in and then controlled John……… Poor sod.
Julian has said as much on TV.

^ Yes, I also never bought into her claims to have never heard of the Beatles before meeting John. I really wonder how John fell for it, because they both talked about it one interview, as I recall.
Even if Paul’s version of the story of how the two met is wrong (and I will personally never believe Yoko over Paul), I don’t see how could have anyone not known of the Beatles around that time. Even nowadays, there’s rarely a person who hasn’t at least heard the name “Beatles”, with children excluded of course.

I agree with all of you…well said. I’d only add that Yoko never has been introduced to the concept of telling the truth. She simply is incapable of love. She is narcisistic and completely self-absorbed. It is all about her. And, John never was taught how to love…he simply didn’t have the necessary tools to make healthy decisions regarding love or relationships. He was attracted to the opposite of what he needed in the case of Yoko.

Oh no no no…
We don’t need that mental image… I don’t think that happened…
ANYROAD, I was watching the “Let It Be ” film the other day. I love the part where Paul and John are preforming “Two Of Us “… first of all I don’t believe Paul when he says he wrote it for Linda.. I always thought he wrote it for John. Just the lyrics alone, it’s about someone he has known for a much longer time. Here is the part:
Look at Yoko glaring at them, they’re having such a good time and you can tell she totally hates it. Such a possessive woman. Hahaha, take that Yoko.

There was no yelping, screaming, feedback, howling, wailing, moaning or anything like that so it probably didn’t fit into being what Yoko saw as real music.
An electric version of Two of Us from Twickenham should get an official release, it’s such a great, completely different song from the acoustic. It really rocks.
Yoko knew of the Beatles before she hooked up with John, its detailed in Gould’s ‘Can’t Buy Me Love : The Beatles, Britain, and America’. Its just another one of those threads of the johnandyoko story which, when picked at, unravels very quickly.

On topic: I’m not sure, but I really hope so, because I’m sure John loved her. I think she was kind of using him though.
Off topic (ish): I agree that Two of Us really sounds like it was written about John. It just makes so much sense. He’s looking back at a long friendship that’s lasted a long time, and now he recognizes it’s ending, and he’s looking back on it. Just a beautiful song.

After hearing “Take Me to the Land of Hell,” I think that Yoko loved John. I love the lyrics to the title song, which seem to be about John and his death:
Blood River, Blood River,
Moonlight spread on my hard bed.
I saw your eyes in my sleep.
Your gaze was deep, and I knew.
Blood River, Blood River,
Take me to the Land of Hell,
Where you and I meet soul to soul,
To never be apart again.
Our cord was cut by the Universe.
We floated away
with each other’s hearts.
I went East and you went West,
Flying around, our memory of birth.
Blood River, Blood River,
Take me to the Land of Hell,
Where you and I meet eye to eye,
To never be apart again.
You’re my curse.
I’m your noose.
Raise me gently.
Burn the hearth.
Raise me gently.
Burn the hearth,
In a Nowhere Land in the Universe.
Blood River, Blood River,
Take me to the Land of Hell,
Where you and I meet soul to soul,
To never be apart again.
I’ll bury you with my hand
in the distant sand.
We’ll hold each other
and never leave again.
I hear your heartbeat to the end of life.
I hear your heartbeat to the end.
Blood River, Blood River,
Take me to the Land of Hell,
Where you and I meet eye to eye,
To never be apart again.

I just came across this 60 Minutes feature on Cynthia and Yoko, with an appearance by a 12-year-old Sean. I couldn’t think of anywhere else to post it.
When did Yoko start wearing sunglasses, btw? I read that she claimed she wears them because John said he liked her with them, so she never goes out without them. I wonder when she decided to start that tradition.

Of course she knew about the Beatles before she met John. They were famous all over the world and had been so for a few years already.
Also agree about Two of us. Always thought it was written about John too.
I don’t know if Yoko really loved John. Sometimes I think she just used him and especially his name to get certain things she wanted. I also hate the whole Johnandyoko thing she created.
