I like that joke.MMM, let’s think about this for a minute. Did Yoko sit down with John and say, “Let’s make up a story that will cause everyone to think I really loved you?”
I’m saying that we cannot accept their account without there being doubt. We know they sat down and made up a story over John’s 5-year absence from making music; the evidence suggests their initial getting together wasn’t quite what they said.

Yes I read somewhere that the Art gallery meeting Out Of The Blue ….was contrived. That the truth was that she had stalked John. Perhaps they saw this sort of lie as ‘performance art’ and therefore permissible.
Perhaps Yoko sees her whole life as performance art……’The world’s a stage….’ And now for some serious capering about a bit here’s………Yoko and John.

@Expert Texpert, I’ve always found these words by Hal David heartfelt and profound (even though they were written for a movie theme song).
What’s it all about, Alfie
Is it just for the moment we live
What’s it all about when you sort it out, Alfie
Are we meant to take more than we give
Or are we meant to be kind
And if only fools are kind, Alfie
Then I guess it’s wise to be cruel
And if life belongs only to the strong, Alfie
What will you lend on an old golden rule
As sure as I believe there’s a heaven above, Alfie
I know there’s something much more
Something even non-believers can believe in
I believe in love, Alfie
Without true love we just exist, Alfie
Until you find the love you’ve missed you’re nothing, Alfie
When you walk let your heart lead the way
And you’ll find love any day, Alfie, Alfie

Look, I don’t like Yoko. I don’t like her art, or her voice, or the way she never gives a straight answer to even the simplest question. I don’t think I’ll ever come to like her, or even appreciate her.
However… I will not say she didn’t love John.
We can’t see into other people’s hearts. We can’t feel what other people feel. We can’t know what other people think. So nobody can say Yoko didn’t love John because we don’t know what’s in her heart and mind.
I think it’s okay to say she shows love differently than most people. I think you can argue she can come across as if she doesn’t feel love the way most people do. And I think it’s quite alright to wonder whether she had other/different reasons to go after John than just love. But we cannot outright say she never loved him.
I’m sure that in her own way, she did. And probably very much so. Just because she has a strange way of showing it, doesn’t mean it’s not genuinely there. She probably has her reasons for expressing her emotions the way she does. I’m not saying I like that about her. In fact, I wish she’d just take off that mask for once, and show us what’s behind it. But as much as I dislike Yoko and her antics, you’ll never hear me say she didn’t love John.

Because Yoko says she did and does. I have no reason to believe otherwise since I can’t look into her heart.
And you know very well that when people say “I’m sure…” they don’t mean they “have certainty”, they just “suppose” something.

She did. She wasn’t always the best person, though. Neither was John.Nor are any of us.

This is just about opinion and you’re certainly entitled to have yours…..I’m not getting at you.
It was just the contradiction that struck me……Having argued eloquently and written it off as impossible for anyone to know Yoko’s heart..and come to the opinion that she didn’t love John.
You said: “We can’t see into other people’s hearts. We can’t feel what other people feel. We can’t know what other people think. So nobody can say Yoko didn’t love John because we don’t know what’s in her heart and mind…….But we cannot outright say she never loved him.”
In the next breath you say:”I’m sure that in her own way, she did. And probably very much so…….”
I didn’t read ‘I’m sure’ as ‘I suppose’ No apology for that interpretation
But anyhow…… You’re argument that ‘Yoko said she did and does’ I would treat with more scepticism than you do. I’ve learned in life to look at what people do not what they say.
I don’t consider that Yoko holds herself to a strict code of honesty………..Particularly if by doing so it would conflict with her interests……But that’s my view it doesn’t have to be anyone else’s.
Please don’t take offence.

Well, I do take offence. Not only are you implying naivety on my part by suggesting I value people’s word more than their actions, you’re also being dismissive of what I wrote because of one word, which you then use to discredit the entire sentiment. Even after I explained what I meant by it, you’re still refusing to let go of your own interpretation of what I wrote. Did it occur to you that English is not my native language and that perhaps I sometimes use different words than a native speaker would? No, you simply prefer to use that one word to try and turn me into a fool. Well, it says more about you than it does me.
As far as Yoko is concerned, the photos taken of her right after John died, tell me she did love him. Nobody can feign that level of devastation. Even if her love isn’t quite the same as what I would consider love – and I have no way of knowing if that’s even the case – that still doesn’t mean she never loved him at all.
But hey, you obviously know something the rest of the world doesn’t. Congratulations.

@Mademoiselle Kitty >^..^< Wow, you write better than most people whose first language is English…. Wait , what if you’re Yoko in disguise? Jk. But according to some people, she did go for Paul first. 🙂

As for my opinions right or wrong they are just opinions…….That’s all…….I know how touchy people are on this site…..I didn’t mean to offend you.
I applaud your level of written English. As your advocates (dutch word) point out you write better English than what I do…….
I think …..That’s all……

Yoko’s daughter do we know what kind of relationship she had with John or Sean?
I believe John and Yoko had a good relationship with Kyoko (and Julian) until Yoko’s ex-husband basically took Kyoko and disappeared. This happened before Sean was born. Yoko never saw her again until after John died, when she came back into Yoko’s life. I don’t know to what extent she has known Sean.
