Yep so it’s a visual problem not a functional problem?

Looks to be so. That’s good… but I still try to put something between the beginning of my post and the @mention because I like that blue link to the user’s profile there.

I also noticed that, when you open the ‘Topics with unread posts’ box, you can’t mouse over the ‘Last Post’ button and preview the post like you used to. Mousing over still works on the main forum though.

Close the tab/window then make a new Beatles Bible tab/window then you will be good to go.

I can’t thank my own posts which I think is a shame because I post a lot of things I would like to “thank” myself for
You really are shameless, aren’t you?
I wonder if Von Bontee and vonbontee ever thank each other.
I wonder if I’d be able to resist the temptation if I had multiple accounts.

A space works nicely… practically invisible but still counts, to the mysterious technologies, as ‘something’.

If vonbontee doesn’t thank his own posts then he’s wasting a beautiful opportunity that only he has
I would make another account just so I can like my own posts, but that’s too much work, and thanks, I think ?

I’ve done that on YouTube before. It ain’t satisfying since what matters is that someone else is reading your post.

For some reason, it’s not letting me post here.
I type in a post, press submit, and it reloads the page without having added my post.
EDIT: One time when I tried it, it even closed the tab on my browser after I pressed submit.
FURTHER EDIT: Never mind. I tried a different web browser and it worked.

Well, I found out that the problem was not as much with the thread as much as the fact I wanted to post a picture. I found this out later on when I tried to post a picture elsewhere on the forum.
The browser it didn’t work on was Microsoft Edge and the browser it did work on was Google Chrome.

Isn’t Edge just a fancy new name for IE and everyone knows IE was beyond crap? Like going back to listening to music on those crappy ultra-thin cardboard records that you got when buying cereals back in the 60”s.

That’s a good name- stick with it me thinks 😀
Fun fact: Like French and German, Irish has genders- masculine and feminine. Cailín while it means girl, is masculine (please don’t make me explain why) It’s the same in German except ‘Maedchen’ is neutral.
Fun fact #2: There is no Irish word for ‘scruff’ so you can’t accurately translate my name- isn’t that sad?

I find genders in languages strange. How do beds and tables have genders?

^ English used to have genders but we lost them over the years. I remember reading that the way the romance languages (as in Spanish, French and Italian) are evolving, in a couple of hundred years they’ll have lost their genders as well (and the language students rejoice).
I think genders go back so far in history that we’ve lost the reason as to why they’re there- they just…are.
I remember when I was in Germany after having only done German for 2 years and I obviously wasn’t as good as German as I am now that I used to sometimes mix up my genders, saying something was masculine when it was neutral yadayada and my host mother said “don’t worry about the genders. Everyone will understand you if you say something is feminine when it’s actually neutral. So long as you know the noun it doesn’t matter what article you use”.
That still isn’t an excuse though…learn your genders children!
And to mess with AD40’s head, let’s look at bed and chair in various languages:
Irish: Bed= An Leaba (feminine), Chair= An Chathaoir (feminine)
French: Bed= Le Lit (masculine), Chair= La Chaise (feminine)
German: Bed= Das Bett (neutral), Chair= Der Stuhl (masculine)
