I’ve never noticed this. If it is common, please forgive my previous inattention.

I tried making the categories for the awards a color other than black – as I did last year – and it didn’t take.
Also, I couldn’t get that trophy to center with the rest of the post.

Yes @Ahhh Girl, I can. As Sheldon Cooper (The Big Bang Theory) would say, “curiouser and curiouser…”Oudis, did you know that phrase was first coined a century ago in Alice in Wonderland? Sheldon is quoting Lewis Carroll’s book, it’s not (originally) his quirky little phrase. I know…
Ha ha! Well, I’ll be…! The funny thing, @Matt Busby, is that I’ve read Alice several times and didn’t recognize the phrase when I saw the TV show. Who says it, originally?
Alice – several times in fact. I guess technically she could start with the 3rd curious thing she came across
You’re right @Matt Busby; and I heard it again today in Downton Abbey, a British TV series I strongly recommend.
“Forsan et haec olim meminisse juvabit” (“Perhaps one day it will be a pleasure to look back on even this”; Virgil, The Aeneid, Book 1, line 203, where Aeneas says this to his men after the shipwreck that put them on the shores of Africa)

Abbey is practically a cult classic in the states. Too much like a soap for me, but my mother and her friends love it. The last British show I watched regularly was Fawlty Towers I think. I wish I got the real BBC and not BBC America. I like war movies, especially British ones,

@UnidentifiedFiendishThingy @Starr Shine? @meanmistermustard
I’m very sorry. It looks like a malicious advert got through Google’s system, and is redirecting a lot of pages to spammy sites (it’s not just a problem affecting this site).
I’ve temporarily removed ads, and am investigating ways to block the offending ads until Google comes up with a fix.
To repeat, I’m really, really sorry. This totally wasn’t intentional, and I’d never add a script to redirect site visitors to another part of the web. I’m pretty furious this has happened because it makes me look like a spammer. Thanks also for not using adblock and supporting this site – I appreciate it.

I know that Google’s people are fighting an influx of dodgy ads right now. I’m not sure how the offenders managed to circumvent the system though – it seems pretty lax on Google’s part.
I *think* it’s fixed. I blocked a bunch of URLs that were mentioned on the Adsense support forum. The trouble with spammers is they tend to pop up with different identities, so it’s likely that I’ll be playing whack-a-mole for a while.
If you’re taken to another page again, please hit Back in your browser and make a note of which ads were displaying on the forum before you were redirected. There’s hopefully a small window of time to check before it happens again. I can block ads on an individual basis, but as everyone sees slightly different things based on their browsing habits, I need to be told.
Edit: I’m still getting problems with some persistent ads which I’m struggling to block. I’ve reported it to Google so hopefully there’s a fix forthcoming.

Yes, @Matt Busby, it is a bit of a soap opera –but a classy one.
(Sorry everyone for derailing the thread)

^ that happens on my phone. I think it just takes a while to realize. Just stay off the home page for a few hours then things will be good.

Thanks – but it hasn’t helped – it’s still going on.
Just so folks know it makes it all but impossible for me to follow along in discussions. I’m not ignoring you, it’s just I can’t check new posts off the first forum page and the ‘topics with unread posts’ box only works occasionally.

Annadog40, I received your private message and did reply to it. My Messages still says I have a message, but I have already read it. Don’t know why this is happening.
@Hazy, its a common issue to many if not all of us. No idea how to get rid of it but eventually it does decide to clear.
